Eric Bieniemy, Colorado's offensive coordinator the past two seasons, is under strong consideration to be the running backs coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, two sources close to the situation said Thursday.
If Bieniemy gets the job, he would be reunited with new Chiefs coach Andy Reid, whom Bieniemy played for his last year in the NFL in 1999 with Philadelphia. Bieniemy would also again work with Brad Childress, whom Reid is expected to hire as an adviser and was the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, where Bieniemy served as his running backs coach.

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try, try and, well, try again. The Pro Football Hall of Fame has just announced its list of 15 modern-era finalists and for the sixth straight year it includes former Vikings receiver Cris Carter.

Marc Trestman, 1997: "I had a chance to start my NFL coaching career working for Hall of Fame coach Bud Grant. He is my mentor and his leadership qualities, game management and observational skills were off the charts, and he would always take time to educate me on many important aspects of life and the game. Coach Grant's long-time offensive coordinator was Jerry Burns, who Coach Bill Walsh admitted to me on a number of occasions was a major influence on the principles of the West Coast offense. But Coach Walsh put it together from top to bottom, implementing an organizational style, meeting and practice format, as well as player development and evaluation process that is implemented by so many NFL teams today."

Well, Billick certainly does not know when to stop talking.
As far as Trestman, take this as a little nugget for thought. Marc Trestman is getting his first NFL head coaching job at 2 years younger than when Bud Grant was retiring from his only NFL head coaching job. _________________

The Bears have relieved offensive coordinator Mike Tice of his duties, according to a league source.
In fact, they fired the entire offensive staff: quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates, running backs coach Tim Spencer, offensive line coach Tim Holt, receivers coach Darryl Drake and tight ends coach Mike DeBord.

Heck, if they keep Tebow, they may have to install new turf on a weekly basis... |
