I'd take Gabbert before Vick. |

I agree with him. Vick has had one good season in his career. I'd rather roll with the young guy and have a better idea where we stand than rely on an old guy who has never been that good and would probably get hurt anyway. _________________

Neither are good, but Gabbert is younger, less injury prone, and has more potential.
So yes. _________________

For one game, both players being healthy, Vick is an easy choice. Moving forward is an entirely different story, as is for an entire season.
A healthy Michael Vick is a very dynamic player. _________________

Honestly, in some ways it makes sense to try out Vick. See what he can do here. When he's on and healthy, he's definitely the sort of dynamic QB we're looking for.
Realistically, we try him for a few games, then he does his usual schtick and gets injured...and we're back to Henne/Gabbert duking it out for tallest midget.
Best case...Vick actually makes this offense scary. Most of us have hinted at wanting a mobile dual-threat QB. Vick is one that could come for free...other than cap space. But if many are willing to throw cap space away on Alex Smith, why not give Vick a try? At his best, Vick is vastly more dynamic as a QB than Smith...and at his worst? he's just injured. no harm, no foul i guess. |

He's a heck of an upgrade over Henne, but I definitely wouldn't want him going into the season as a starter - he's way too injury and turnover prone. But bringing him in as a backup/package guy would have its perks.
Still don't want him though. _________________

Yeah. I don't really want him or anything. He's not the future, and he'd probably end up bringing more of a circus that it's worth. But i'm just saying...if we're interested in the idea of Alex Smith... |

agreed - he's a much better option than Smith. I'm not buying the speculation regardless. _________________
