Just wondering, do you think 1 game by Pryor is enough of a sample size? The bolded part above is exactly why I ask this. I'm cant rest on those 3 TDs because you dont see QBs who have bad footwork, lobby passes, and accuracy problems put up points on a weekly basis. Heck, you dont even see QBs like that starting in the NFL. We have no idea if that game was a fluke or not. SD's defense isnt bad, but they arent good, either. Perhaps more importantly is the fact that they had just 1-2 days to gameplan for Pryor, who warrants a much different plan than Leinart would have.

No, I don't. I've said all along, I think after that performance he at least should garner some consideration to start depending what happens this off season. He showed more than I expected.

Tagg Palmer is not improving. You and the rest of his Camp could post quotes from the internet about Pryor and how he isn't ready and he may not be, but I could show you hundreds of posts that say Palmer is not improving. Jaws ranks him at 22 as QB in the NFL. Bill Williamson has pointed out several times, that we won't win with him...

I respect your opinions and support of him, but don't see eye to eye.

Who wants to be in my camp?

The camp that is frustrated by all options at QB?

Palmer and Pryor IMO offer no long term solution. Neither QB will take the Raiders to the playoffs.

The QB of the Raiders isn't on the roster. That guy that is going to elevate the team to new heights. He's out there waiting to be found. Just hope it doesn't take another 10 years to find him.

I am.
I like Palmer, I think he may take us to the playoffs if he plays another 3 years or so.. but right when this team should be "peaking" he is going to retire... which is why we need to start grooming the QB now.

I like Pryor... I see him developing into one of the best backup QBs... not that hell be the best passer or anything.. but hes the type of guy who if your QB goes down, can come in and win you a game when the D isnt ready... he has the athleticism to make Ds have to put a spy on him... just dont think he will develop into that solid starting qb... hope im wrong.

I dont like to many of the QBs coming out this year, note i dont know much about them... but I'm fully expecting a QB to be drafted early in the next few years

I feel pretty much the same. I want a legit QB to develop, not a guy with huge question marks. No offense to Pryor. Would have absolutely loved Foles, he was a QB I was really hoping we'd get to develop. But then he went back for another season at AZ and we took Pryor.

+1

I think Palmer gives us the better chance to win, but is in no way worth the salary we have to pay him. Pryor warrants a backup spot and time to develop, but is in no way ready to be a full time starter. If there is a vet QB available in FA would would be as effective as Palmer at a cheaper price, then I would be all for going that route. But if there isnt, and we cant draft a true QBOF this year, then our options are what we have right now.

Totally agree tbh. I like Palmer but time is against him for this team. This team needs to develop a QB, sooner rather than later. Ideally Palmer takes a pay cut and we can draft a long term answer. We need to pick picks though cos this team needs depth, a lot of depth.

In my opinion they are a joke. In the last ten years there drafts sucked.

Mock Offseason
Coaching Staff already addressed (Check)

Players to be retained that will cost money: 9 million

Desmond Bryant- new UT- gets a raise to around 4 million annually short-term deal
Phillip Wheeler- Multiyear, deal 6 million 2yr deal
Shaugnessy 2YR 5 million dollar deal

Players back for cheap: Should cost around 5 million to retain these players
P Adams- compete at CB
J Hansen- stopgap Nickle CB
Gaither- depth at MLB
Carter- pash-rush specialist
Goodsen- depth at RB
Stewart- depth at RB
Total Cost
14 million to retain talent

Keys Players who walk for a bigger payday:
Brandon Myers, Shane Lechler

Player cuts: Tommy Kelly, Seymour, Former Giants DE

20 million to play with before we
Rework these players deals:
Huff- shed 2-3 million on the year
DHB Ė shed 2-3 million on the year
Dedication to the silver and black, save some money there. Being modest we will still have around 25 million to sign some key free agents and sign our rookies. DHB and Huff have been team players in the past.
Carson Palmer- more cap friendly deal with the chance to cut him in 2014

Trades:

Rolondo McClain- Balt or Pitt for a 6th round pick
Why: Two rivals think they can change McClain in their environment
*Louis Murphy traded for 7th round pick

FA
Three starters brought in who might demand money, but would be worth the investment:
Antoine Cason- starter for the Chargers, entering his prime, good size, isnít a star but a solid starter
Jared Cook- Compete with Ausberry as starting tight end
Sammy Lee Hill Ė a massive nose tackles, who will come in to stop the run at a reasonable contract

Gambles on potential gems for dirt-cheap:
R Barden- odd man out in NY in a deep wide receiver corp. Good size wideout with untapped potential.
L Blount- Tampa landed Doug Martin who is a stud, and also have good depth. Blount has shown he can produce in the NFL, anger issues will drive his price down. He would form a nice 1-2 punch with McFadden and perhaps start if McFadden goes down again
K Rivers- injured prone but talented. With the sad state of our linebacking core we take a risk on a potential FA sleeper.
Winston Justice- RT has flashed ability to play, but injured prone

Depth thru cheap vets
James Sanders- steady veteran who will be an upgrade over Matt G.
Byron Leftwich- vet to bring some leadership from the bench
Brady Quinn- some arms for camp

Draft
Compensation Pick Rewarded
6th- Michael Bush
6th- Samson Sateele

Draft Day Trade
Oakland 4th, 6th and 4th in 2014 for a late 3rd round pick
Oakland trades a future pick for a 4th rounder
1- DeMontre Moore DE Texas A&M
6'4 250 All Sec performer, pash rush demon who brings a pass rusher from the edge
3- TJ McDonald FS USC
6-3 205 was a solid performer as SC since his sophomore year, this year is a deep year for safeties. Former all american who is a leader
3- Larry Warford G Kentucky
Deep year for guards, and they are less coveted then tackles. This massive man could be a 1st rounder if he played for Bama.
4(Trade)- Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu CB
We all know the story, of the former college star. No one denies his talent, but character concerns makes him a late round pick. I know he is smaller but I see passion when he plays to overcome it. Reggie shocks the world and takes a gamble due to our corners being so bad

6th Cameron Lawerence OLB Mississippi State
111 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, four passes broken up and four sacks in 2012. Second team All SEC. Projected as a late round pick

7th Brandon McGee CB Miami- 2 year starter for the U. Good size at 6'1 was a leader for his team, and had a solid career

7th (Murphy)Mississippi - Chad Bumphis WR Mississippi State
Under the rader SEC prospect 5'11 runs a 4.4 and is a good athlete. Nearly had a 1000 yards and over 12tds during his senior year on a lousy team. Could be a sleeper

Would love to sign these three undrafted free agents
Brad Wing P, Josh Boyett FS, Zac Stacy RB , and
Devon Kennard DE USC - moved around during his tenure at SC between LB and DE. Injured last year, has shown talent getting to the QB. 6-3 260 has the size to play in this league.

2013 Roster

Palmer
Depth: Pryor, Leftwich,
Palmer and Pryor battle in training camp, may the best man win

Mcfadden
Depth:Blount, Goodsen, Stewart, Jones, Stacey
A lot of competition, will make for a good camp

Reece
Depth:Olawale
Reece is the man, hopefully he gets the ball more in 2013.

Moore, DHB
Ford, Streater, Barden, Criner
A lot of young playmakers, in a new scheme, the cream will rise to the top

Cook
Ausberry, Gordan
Our tight end spot will be explosive with this FA acquisition; Ausberry and Gordan provide decent depth

Valdheer, Warford, Wiz, Brisel, Justice
Depth: Smith, Nix, Parson, Bergstorm
Going back to power run scheme should allow McFadden to run wild again. Question will remain if Brisel can hold up in the scheme. In training camp, a battle for RT will be fought. For once, our depth would be solid in the unit

Defense:
Shaugnessy Houston
Moore, Carter, Crawford
Raiders need to generate more pash rusher. Moore should help off the edge, and he is good against the run.

Lee, Bryant
Depth: Cristo, Brandon Bair
A bit thin in our interior, but Lee should help against the run, and Bryant played solid last year. Cristo and Bair should emerge as rotation players in 2013

Rivers Burris Wheeler
Depth: Jackson, Gaither, Clayton
A lot of question marks with this unit. Can Burris thrive at Mike, and will Rivers stay healthy. Depth would be a weak, but itís hard to build Rome in a day

Cason, Chekwa, Hansen, Adams, Mathieu , Ross, McGee, Ansah
Cason would be slotted at one starting spot, other guys will need to emerge.

Huff, Branch
Depth: McDonald, Sanders
Drafting TJ will give us great depth at safety, who eventually will take over Free Safety. Huff can even play more corner if we need him there. Sanders provides depth at the other spot

Notable guys trying to make the roster: Goethel LB, Corey Nelms DB, Lacey RB, Zack Hurd OL, Brad Wing P, Burnett LB, Kennard DE, Session WR, Johnny Johns NT, Isiah Williams, S Josh Boyett, WR Bumphis

Food for thoughts?

That should guarantee us the #1 overall pick in 2014.

The thought of Pryor in Al Saunders offense is completely laughable.

Seriously? Did you stop to think about this at all? You want Pryor throwing Rainbows in Saunders vertical Air Croyell offense?

Tell me how that make any sense whatsoever.

Pryor homers are ridiculous. Palmer clearly is the best choice at QB if Saunders is your OC. But you can't stand that can you?

Whats wrong with having the #1 overall if palmer was starting he would net us a 5th overall at best with this defense. Having the #1 pick next year is alot better than having it this year.

Give the guy a break he is trying, i like the second offseason, not a fan of McDonald, but if you swithed that with Rambo i would like it, you never really know how picks beyond the second round will turnout anyway.

Nice effort, i can't wait until early march when we find out our free agent situation. Cool
