| I know he's from the CFL but it is a professional league. If coaches are hired from college teams then you might as well get someone from Canada. |

Ian Rapport (@RapSheet) has it too:
| Quote: | | Source: The #Bears plan to hire #Alouettes coach Marc Trestman as their next coach. They've told the other finalists of their plan, I'm told |

With word coming out earlier tonight that Bevell was going to interview in AZ it sounded as if it was down to Arians and Trestman. Glad Trestman got the nod. _________________

The CFL has had produced considerable talent over the last decades. Warren Moon, Joe Theisman, Jeff Garcia, Marv Levy. It is not the football back country you make it out to be.
Trestman is the best hire the Bears could make at this point. _________________

I'm not sure how he'll translate from the CFL to the NFL but he's got a nice resume coaching a pro team. The Bears obviously see something in him to choose him over NFL coaches. |

It hasn't been a secret that Trestman was in major consideration. Steve Young was on ESPN 1000 in Chicago today and said Trestman was one of the best offensive minds he's ever been around, put him right up there with Shannahan and Holmgren. _________________

Trestman also was an OC in the NFL. Was Cardinals OC from 98 to 200 then Oakland OC from 2001 to 2003. Plus more. Was around the NFL for a good while. Surprised most people don't remember him. _________________

He isn't just a CFL guy. He has an extensive history in the NFL. _________________

Seriously. Always figured he'd eventually come back to the NFL. _________________
