well, beauty's in the eye of the beholder, i guess.
i remember watching the San Francisco teams under Walsh and Montana. never got boring watching them out-coach and out-execute the other teams.
no difference here. quite similar, actually. |
I think there is a desire to hate that team that is always on top. However, the Pats havent won a superbowl in almost a decade, so i am not sure what the complaint is. Sure they have made the superbowl twice in recent years, they havent been on top in a long time. |

Nothing about the Patriots bores me. That defense is all new players, and they now have two legit RBs. I wish the Vikings would bore us all with so much success. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

isn't that we all want for the teams we follow? |
I like them and I want them to win.
Ranking the remaining teams from who I want to win to who I want to see win least:
1. Patriots
2. 49ers
3. Ravens
4. Falcons
Falcons not winning is the most important thing though. _________________

I wouldn't be bored if it was the Vikings. My comment was more an indictment on the rest of the AFC. _________________

No, that is true. But he is just one of those legends that no one will ever forget and the type of player I would love to see get a ring and call it a career. The NFL will miss him, no doubt. |

I'm hoping for some Baltimore revenge. |
The AFC is terrible. Denver choked when it mattered. Baltimore was just the beneficiary.
I want San Francisco to win and Randy gets his ring. Plus, they did beat Greenbay.
Do it San Fran! _________________

S.F. beats Green Bay 45-31 to reach NFC title game.
181 rushing yards playoff record for a QB.
San Francisco had 579 total yards, 323 on the ground.

didn't GB devote almost their entire Draft this last year to defense...? |
I do know they drafted a bunch of players for there defense that didnt fit the 3-4 scheme. Which consequently shows how much they were gashed on the ground.
The Packers were a largely mediocre team carried by an elite Qb. |
Our first and second round picks ended the year on IR. The D did make a nice jump from dead last to 11th ( not sure just read based on other posts) so at least they are making strides. Numerous coaches, media have said that players make their biggest strides from year one to year two. So we will be fine next year and going toe-toe with you guys for the North title. Hopefully with results like the wildcard game. _________________

making strides? you just got your butts handed to you and gave up almost 600 yards in one game! most of your fans are calling for your DC to be fired.
that's making strides? _________________

One game is the key. And of course you know this fans overreact all the time. Fans have been calling for Hawk's head since he got drafted. Dom came out with the 4th MLB, 3rd OLB, back-up DE, other DE got injured early in the game so we had our second back-up. It would be tough to put together a good performance with six injuries in the front seven. Offense is our strength and they didn't really deliver in that game either, so why aren't people calling for McCarthy's head?
We jumped from 32nd to 11th is yards, and had the most sacks we had in a long time. We also jumped from 18th in PPG to 11th as well. Not bad considering the amount of injuries we had, the guys above plus Clay gone for five weeks and Woodson missing two months. If he stinks it up next year then maybe he is gone. But you have to give the talent some time to grow and develop from the draft we just had. _________________

but every team can say that, about their squads on both sides of the ball.
i just think you're hanging to complimentary stats instead of looking at what just happened to you - the Pack D cannot stop running attacks and the team's game is built upon Rodgers leading the O to 35 points or so.
that was the formula the 1998 Vikings used too. _________________
