Perhaps, he would require a "trade up"...
On the other hand, he could make it to 15.
hink that he is the pick. I can see us going arfter Michael Johnson or Cliff Avril in free agency. Therefore, we can pursue another need.
I believe Mingo can stand up and play the SAM. He will play the position much like Von Miller. If there is a player similar to Miller this year, it is... |

As a LB in a 34 yes...
As a LB in a 43 maybe... _________________

Releasing Vilma, Smith and Harper opens up a ton of cash. Sedrick Ellis opens up a decent chunk of change and than a restructure of a guy here and a guy there and we'll definitely have some cash to play with. Wouldn't be surprised to see Evans and Greer re-structure to stick around. _________________

I agree Harp...
Loomis, time and time again makes it happen and has already came out and openly said the cap situation is nothing he can't navigate through. Who would have thought last offseason with the money we had available that we'd land Bunkley, Lofton and Hawthorne.
Mickey will find a way to make it happen. I do believe Smith, Vilma & Harper are all as good as gone. No restructuring will occur but the Saints will try to be as classy as they can when it comes to Smith and Vilma. However, Harper (from what I have heard) relationship with the coaching staff has soured and AlOT of people in the city and on airline drive AND players on the team feel that it was Harper, not Ellis who ran his mouth to Holder in that interview. So I don't see such a polite divorce for Harper this offseason.
I do see the Saints landing at a minimum 2 stout FA defenders this offseason. _________________

Can't forget that Jimmy needs to get paid as well, and Brees' cap hits only get bigger and bigger each year. _________________

Hope you're right! I'm pretty sure it was you that called we'd land a big name FA last off season, too. I don't know where you get these "sources" from but they're proven to be correct. _________________

Yeah, I called the Lofton signing way before it was out there that we were intrested. That came from one of the sources... _________________

I think Jimmy gets paid but not this offseason... I see him getting his mid season next year. _________________

Brees has restructured to get players before, I'm sure he'd do it again. _________________

Why wouldn't he? He wouldn't lose any money. Turn a few million into a signing bonus here, move a million or two to the following year here and we've got an additional 5M in cap space and Brees still gets his cash. _________________

Im with you here, I think I remember reading somewhere that two simply restructures this offseason by simply adjusting how the money is allocated in the Brees and Evans contract could save us about 10 million in cap space this year. (6 for Drew and 4 for Jahari) _________________
