| Can someone please explain why so many people here on this fourm want to cut levi brown. We just signed him to a farily cheap 5 year contract and he is our best expierenced lineman a position where we clearly showed has no depth and yet people want to just let him go. I dont see any tackles available to us at 7 and at best we get Warmack who is a guard so like I said please tell me why cutting levi makes any sense. our cap situation sucks anyways we wouldnt save that much by letting him go. |

Levi for 4 1/2 years has been mediocre at best (in pass-pro) until a solid finish to the 2011-12 season in a contract year. Also lineman need their arms (not exactly breaking news) but Levi suffered an injury serious enough to keep him out for the entire season.
So pair together the mediocre production, injury, salary and age (29 next season) and it makes it easy to see why he probably won't be here. He wasn't a Keim guy to begin with either. _________________

Well for starters, the life of this deal is not "fairly cheap". 6 million a year is pretty stout. _________________

I call that a bargain for a starter quality tackle while either we wait to draft a franchsie tackle in this draft or next years or see if potter and massie can be long term solutions. I'm sorry but going into next season with two second year players is not acceptable after all the crap of the last three seasons.
Ideally we go into this offseason with a group of levi brown, chance warmack, barret jones, nate potter, bobby massie, daryn college, lyle sendlin, adam snyder and put the best line together we can out of that. |

1. But it's not a bargain. The tackle market is clear on that.
2. Lewvi Brown has been a big part of the "crap of the last three seasons". A very big part. _________________

in my last mock i didnt take a tackle but took a G. The FA market is big this year for OT:
Jake Long
Ryan Clady
Brandan Albert
My hope is that we get one of those guys. I know some will be franchised and there's not much cap space, but i'm sure the FO can be creative _________________

Can. Not. Afford. We cannot afford to push any money back into 2014 and beyond either due to the likes of Peterson going to need an extension, Larry's cap number doubling from 9M to 17M between 2013 and 2014 among other issues. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I'm sure whoever Keim delegates cap to would be able to clear up some space. Long also might be on the less expensive side seeing as he's coming off injury _________________
