Here is a link to the draft history of this team I want everyone to look at 2008 as not one of the players drafted is on the team anymore. For a team that likes to build through the draft some of the recent drafts have been very average.

so when you have 7 players from a draft, and they're all gone within half a decade, with 6 of those 7 not even in the NFL (assuming Mundy won't get picked up by anybody), then that tells you what an abject failure the draft was. |

please compare it to all the other teams in the NFL to see if it was bad or just normal. Make sure you sub divide the data for those teams picking in the 20s vs those picking in the top 10 and teens. _________________

Our overall draft history has been very average dating back to 2005. We really need to step it up in the scouting department. _________________ Come Follow The Great NSFL!

^^^I've noticed this too. Miller has been the most consistent first round pick we've drafted since we drafted him. And we've failed pretty hard in the later rounds. Outside of Brown/Wallace, what's there worth talking about? When it comes to drafting defense, we have not drafted well. Maybe not TERRIBLE or anything, but not well, either.
It's been a while since we hit a true home run in the draft when it comes to a defensive player. Timmons, if you want to call two good seasons a home run, which it could be. |

seriously? So what you're saying is that we shouldn't talk about bad things?
Here's something to discuss. This is the EXACT type of thing that was going on in the early 80s. The old guys and leaders from "the dynasty" era where we went to 4 Super Bowls were getting older and either retiring from football or simply not effective anymore. We had a tendency to keep or old vets rather than develop younger talent. We continued to rely on the vets for leadership and our younger players were consistently underachieving, not stepping up.
Then we had drafts that were ineffective, and where the few effective guys we got, we lost.
Sound familiar?

The Jags and Colts are the only other teams in the AFC to have no contributors from that 2008 draft in the AFC.
In the NFC, the Redskins, the Cowboys (assuming Felix Jones leaves via free agency), and the Bucs fit the category.
So...
The Jags, Colts, Redskins, Cowboys, and the Bucs
That's some distinguished company there.
The Saints were victims of their own success, as they lost 2 players to "high priced" free agency (Nicks and Porter). If the 49ers lose Larry Grant, add them to the list as well, even though he could start for us. |

All I am saying is if your gonna make a post to bash something that happened 5 years ago have a purpose to the thread. Maybe ask why it turned out to be such a bad draft.... or take a look back at that draft and look at the guys we passed on instead... something of substance!!! _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

I will always look at that draft and see the number 1 receiver that this team needs.
Speed, separation, body size, athleticism, blah, blah, blah.... too bad his head was the problem.
Put someone with the ability of Sweed (minus the head) with our receivers and you have a pretty deadly passing attack. |

It was almost that entire draft class. The redskins have only 2 player remaining from that draft still on their roster (Fred Davis and he nearly smoked his way to a one year suspension and Rob Jackson- FA) and only 2 players are still in the league: Chad Reinhart is a reserve OL for the bills.
Our two wrs we drafted in round 2, Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly arent in the league. _________________ RIP SSF mike23md
