The Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee's 17 finalists for 2013:

Larry Allen (G/T), Jerome Bettis (RB), Tim Brown (WR), Cris Carter (WR), Curley Culp (DT/G), Edward DeBartolo Jr. (owner), Kevin Greene (LB), Charles Haley (DE), Art Modell (owner), Jonathan Ogden (OT), Bill Parcells (coach), Andre Reed (WR), Dave Robinson (LB), Warren Sapp (DT), Will Shields (G), Michael Strahan (DE), Aeneas Williams (CB)

Those 15 and two senior nominees will be the only candidates considered for the HOF when the 46-member Selection Committee meets.

Who's going to get in, who has already been snubbed to this point? Seems like the most popular choices are still in the running, although I know some people thought Coryell should get in.

Its going to be tough for Andre Reed to get in with both Tim Brown and Cris Carter as finalists too.

I agree. I also think if Reed doesn't get in this year then he will probably never get in.

Sadly I think you're right. He is border line HoF guy. He will be one of the top players in the Hall of Very Good.

maybe 30 years down the road he'll be one of those "senior commitee" inductees.

Allen & Ogden are locks, the rest its a really tough decision to narrow it down to 7

My choices to make it in would be: Larry Allen, Tim Brown, Chris Carter, Charles Haley and Michael Strahan.

Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden are locks. I think Parcells gets in, as do Carter, Haley, and Sapp.

IMO, Reed should already be in the HOF, but the voters hate WRs almost as much as punters (see the annual snub of Ray Guy).

Will Shields isn't a lock to anyone?

Long term, yes, I don't know if he's a lock to get in this year.

No, b/c of Jonathan Ogden. Shields will get in eventually, but the HOF doesn't like to induct multiple players at one position unless its QBs.

I'd like to see Parcells & Strahan. After that I don't care.

I'd like to think that they will both get in. I'd also like to think Carter is going to get in as well.

Strong list. Other than the two owners, I wouldn't object to any of those names making it (although Carter should be the #1 receiver IMO)
