This will be pretty basic because I'm doing this on my phone at work.
Resigned
Sam Shields
Brad Jones
Released/Not Retained
Jeff Saturday
Greg Jennings
Donald Driver
Charles Woodson
James Starks
Jermichael Finley
Andrew Quarless
Ryan Pickett
Cedric Benson
Ryan Grant
Frank Zombo
Erik Walden
Robert Francois
Free Agency
Ahmad Bradshaw
- I believe he will be expendable by the Giants due to the late season emergence of David Wilson and the quality of play of Andre Brown. Bradshaw will be the best running back we've had since Ahman Green. He won't be expected to carry the load but has the ability to make plays in the running and passing game that we haven't seen in many years. I think his injury history will keep his salary reasonable and he'll want to continue to play for a contender.
Shaun Philips
- Ted Thompson has struggled in drafting competent defensive linemen and linebackers which is what leads to the signing of the next 2 free agents. Shaun Philips will at the very least push Nick Perry in training camp and pre-season and would leave us with the strongest back OLB we've had in our 3-4 defense. He could easily step into the starting role in the event Clay Mathews is injured or Nick Perry continues to be a disappointment
Randy Starks
- Starks is an experienced defensive lineman that has played in both the 3-4 and the 4-3 defenses that Miami has used in recent years. He's played multiple positions including NT and would add a pass rushing element we've been missing from our DE position since Cullen Jenkins. Starks is 4 years younger than Pickett and would take his position on the team.
NFL Draft
I won't predict our finish in the Playoffs but we know we will be finishing somewhere between 25-32.
I predict we receive 1 compensatory pick valued in the 4th round.
Round 1.
Tyler Eifert - TE, Notre Dame
Round 2.
Terrence Williams, WR Baylor
Round 3.
Brian Schenke, C California
Round 4.
Darius Slay, CB Mississippi State
Round 4 (comp).
Jonathan Franklin, RB UCLA
Round 5.
Duke Williams, S Nevada
Round 6.
Marquess Wilson, WR Washington State
Round 7.
Montori Hughes, NT Tennessee-Martin
53 Man Roster
QB - Rodgers, Harrell
RB - Bradshaw, Green, Franklin, Harris
FB - Kuhn
WR - Nelson, Jones, Cobb, T. Williams, Boykin, Wilson
TE - Eifert, DJ Williams, Taylor
LT - Newhouse, Sherrod
LG - Lang, Van Roten
C - Deitrich-Smith, Schwenke
RG - Sitton, Van Roten
RT - Bulaga, Barclay
DE - Starks, Worthy, Daniels
NT - Raji, Hughes
DE - Neal, Wilson
OLB - Mathews, Philips
ILB - Bishop, Hawk
ILB - Smith, Jones
OLB - Perry, Moses
CB - Shields, Williams, Hayward, House, Slay, Bush
FS - Burnett, Jennings

| I can't get behind letting Pickett, Quarless and Finley go and then not resigning Greg Jennings. Holy cow man... Then we sign an injury prone washed up Running Back, a higher end OLB when we just drafted one in the 1st round. I am fine with Starks but IMO he will get overpaid. I'd rather have Pickett than Starks just for Ryans run defense. |

Where do I begin?
Ahmad Bradshaw cheap because he wants to play for a contender! That's funny, already has a ring or two.
Franklin is going back to school, and would be long gone before our second round pick.
Duke Williams in round 5. _________________

Not really sure why everybody wants to get on the "Get rid of Pickett" bandwagon. Now...after his best game of the season we're on the "Get rid of Walden" bandwagon on top of it?
Didn't know that Perry WAS a disappointment, let alone "if he continues to be..." _________________ Global Warming.....ya....right... |

once i saw that you released Pickett and signed 3 quote unquote big name FAs i lost quite a bit interest in your mock.
Released/Not Retained
Jeff Saturday - i get it
Greg Jennings - no tag and trade just let him go to FA?
Donald Driver - understood
Charles Woodson - he's not going anywhere. his contract could likely get reworked
James Starks - he will be cut in training camp if cut at all
Jermichael Finley - pretty unlikely even if we do sign Eifert
Andrew Quarless - understood
Ryan Pickett - i think this is the least likely of all you releases. Pickett is a versatile reliable guy on our d-line and you're replacing him with a FA and 7th rd pick.
Cedric Benson - understood
Ryan Grant - understood
Frank Zombo - Phillips could push him out
Erik Walden - is having his best season in the Green & Gold. is he under contract through 2013?
Robert Francois - he's a borderline guy so this wouldn't be to surprising.
not really a fan of this mock. to me this makes a very very young team again only for the purpose of being young. guys like Woodson, Walden, and Pickett are good veterans who aside from Woodson aren't breaking the bank so why let them go.? _________________

Walden is a FA this offseason. We'll have to re-sign him. I think we'll be able to, but he may garner interest from other teams. This HAS been his best year to date. _________________

There are way too many releases and too much FA activity. _________________
