Just for reference, here are both sacks at the point Webb bails out of the pocket.
I'd say there was plenty of room to throw or step up on both plays.

Kalil did clearly get beat on the strip sack, no denying that - but Joe Webb did not help at all...
Webb should have been picking up on Matthews trying to beat Kalil around the outside most of the time. So much space.
