This kind of after the play junk is on the refs. They need to do a better job of getting this stuff under wraps early in the game. Both players are putting an equal amount of physicality into this so you can't penalize either of them, but the refs can get this stuff under control early in the game instead of letting it get to this point later by not paying attention. There is no way the refs on the field didn't see this play happen and there is no excuse for the refs not noticing everything that led up to this point. This type of play and the resulting trash talk is why guys start fighting and cheap shotting each other and then smacking guys after the game. I'm not only okay with physicality during the play I love it as a football attitude, but this is unnecessary from both guys, because this has nothing to do with schemes or talent.

Sherman is an awful person. Congratulating a player after the game then getting surprise attacked. THUG.

Not only did the whole thing come off as completely unprovoked, Williams came up to Sherm with his helmet still on and obviously looking for a fight. That's not even emotions getting the best of him, that's purely premeditated.  |
