At last count, the Bears’ list of candidates included Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman, Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, Falcons special-teams coordinator Keith Armstrong, Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael, Cowboys special-teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis, Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements, and Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.
There are no limits on the number of interviews a team can conduct. And if an assistant coach believes that there’s no serious interest in hiring him, he has no duty to accept the invitation to interview. |

Emery is doing what he should league be damned. We have been in the Stone Age offensively and we need to get out of it and he is doing research.
I happen to like having a GM that wants to learn as much as possible about the league he is trying to win in.

No kidding. Why NOT take advantage of it? It's not like they have interviewed a single undeserving candidate or anything.

It is THE most important thing to ask. If they have any hesitation then that alone shows they have not looked up the team they are hoping to lead. Knowing someone was too lazy to look up a few figures or read a few stats even before an interview that could lead to millions of dollars would be uninspiring to say the least. A big red flag for Phil to note from the start.
Plus this is just extra information Phil can relay to the chosen HC, which he may or may not do. It is just a smart business move. |

| Emery already had the reputation of somebody who is thorough and looks at all possibilities. Him interviewing this many candidates is fitting with his reputation and doesn't surprise me at all. |

Well now that he interviewed Trestman the Bears will have a huge advantage with all that knowledge about the CFL. It is a concern.  |

Would have been nice to have a heads up on Cam Wake and Jerel Freeman.
