I wouldn't give Danny more then 5-6 a season. I think that's fair. _________________

He hasn't been healthy the last two seasons, I wouldn't try to sign him for more than 4 a year. He is too injury prone at this point. Just my opinion though. |

IMO, resigning William Hayes is far more important |
X2
Although i love Danny's heart and passion for the game, his durability is a serious concern. If he can get #2 money somewhere else I'd be happy for him and send him on his way. Chris Givens has proven that he's more than capable of being Bradford's new security blanket. Besides i think he's better suited for the slot anyway. |
Eh, I like Chris Givens on the outside. He's kinda got that Mike Wallace dynamic to him. Just need to get another big guy to play on the opposite side of him. |
I think Givens can definately hold down the #2 WR spot no doubt. But it seems all but certain that we will acquire another big time WR whether through FA or the draft. Now I may be in the minority but I believe Quick is gonna reek havoc in 2013, putting him in position to be the #1 guy. Now if we end up grabbing another big time guy in the offseason then i believe that gives us the luxury of moving Givens to the slot.
But your right, if we stand pat and opt out of grabbing another WR then Givens has to stay outside. _________________

I honestly think Danny will walk. And New England will sign him. They loved him a year back internally supposedly. I love Danny but for the money he will be asking I will have to say no. _________________

I think Danny will be jumping for joy if he gets 4 mil a year based on what other slot WRs have gotten. _________________

Durability is certainly a concern and I agree the Rams should not break the bank to keep him.
However, despite missing several games and being less than a 100 percent for several others he still managed to lead all Ram WRs in catches and was third in yardage.

In short if he walks that is a lot of production to make up and I don't see anyone currently on the roster capable of doing that - at least not yet.
As for replacing him with a big name FA - last year on paper was a pretty good FA class with the likes of Meacham, Eddie Royal, Garcon, and Vincent Jackson all hitting the market.
However, by years end Royal and Meachem were not even starters and Garcon put up essentially the same numbers as Gibson. As for VJAX, the Bucs arguably got what they paid for - but it took a kings ransom to do it. |

Not really a fair judgement, as Garcon only played in 10 games due to injury...
Gibson: 16 games, 51 catches, 691 yards, 5 TD
Garcon: 10 games, 44 catches, 633 yards, 4 TD
He put up just as comparable numbers in over a 1/3 less strech of games... _________________

On the question of Garcon - I agree injuries certainly were a factor in his production. However, the Skins still paid him a boat load of money to the tune of $20 mil guaranteed.
Hence, another reason I am not a fan of brining in expensive FA skill position players - especially WRs.
Does the name Drew Bennett - aka the original hands of stone ring any bells. |

That is why I am so glad we got Fisher and Snead and how they backed out of talks with Garcon after the price got too high even though we needed WR help. They don't panic like some of our other front offices and coaching staffs did. |
