Bears Postseason Pick 'Em Rules/Discussion

PLAYOFF INFORMATION:

At the end of the regular season, the 8 posters with the highest point total in Bears Pick 'Em will advance to the playoffs. In the event of a tie, the player who won the most weeks will advance. If neither player won a week or if this is a tie, a coin flip will be used.

In the Wildcard round of the NFL playoffs, these 8 posters will predict total points scored in each wildcard game, similar to how tiebreakers worked in the regular season. The only change is that there is no penalty for going over the total number of points in each game. That is to say that if the total points in a game is 40, players guessing 37 and 43 both have a score of 3. Players will receive a bonus 2 points OFF their total for each week in the regular season where they were a week winner. Players will also predict the winner of each wildcard game, and will receive an additional point off for each correct prediction. Players will be seeded in reverse order of total (like in golf). In other words, based on the accuracy of their predictions.

In the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, players play their matchups based on seeding (1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc). The winner of 1v8 faces the winner of 4v5, and winner of 2v7 plays winner of 3v6 (See below). In this round, as well as in the Conference Championships and Super Bowl, players will follow the same rules as in the Wild Card round, but will receive 1 point off their total for correctly predicting a winner in each game (up to 4 points off/4 games for divisional, 2 for conference, 1 for Super Bowl).

In the Super Bowl, the two remaining posters will predict the total points in the game, as in other rounds, choose a winner, and will also receive 2 points off each for predicting the coin toss result (heads/tails) and coin toss winner (Team). The winner is, once again, the player with the lowest score.

To prevent shenanigans as to copying the picks of your opponent, all submissions/picks will be PM'd to me, and I will post them in the weekly thread once they have all been received. Discussion can occur in this thread, as well.

In the event of a tie, the player with the highest total points in the regular season will advance. If this is also a tie, the player with more weeks won will advance. If this is a tie, the player who scored more points in the first regular season week where both players participated will advance.

The winner of the competition will win an exclusive sig identifying you as the 2012 Bears Pick 'Em Challenge Winner (Bragging rights, yo!).
