It slows me down, definitely, Williams said. I have to rely more on my coaching and technique, other than just trying to use athletic ability to go out and maul guys.

That quote, more than any other, makes me happy. There are lots of very athletic players in the NFL. However, technique is what elevates the good to the great. If you've got great technique, you can elevate above your talent and even continue to play at a high level when age starts to creep up on you.

I dont want to be known for the guy who failed multiple drug tests. That is me, in a sense. It did happen. I embrace that wholeheartedly. That happened, but I have an opportunity to change it, and thats what I want to do.
These were my favorite words of the whole article. He and Fred did a great job through the offseason. It's a real shame Fred got hurt. Sad I feel like his words would be exactly the same as Trent's. I hope we re-sign Fred now, he's proven in the past year that he's learned a lot and wants to be a leader and very important part of this team.

Maybe it's just me, but I never got the sense that Fred owned the drug failures like Trent has. I still don't get that sense of maturity from Davis, or that superstar caliber player.

fred has stayed clean just the same though, so I'd say there is nothing you can point to as to where Fred hasn't acted like a mature focused young football player.

Remember, that court case with that Madam or whomever she was was a hold over from the 2011 season or before. The court case just took case last offseason.
