I think lack of experience can be compensated by the quality of coodinators hired by a head coach. When Tomlin (he was a DC for 1 year) was hired, the Steelers were smart enough to keep two fabulous coordinators around him.
My assumption is that if Sully becomes a head coach he would be more of the CEO type head coach. Allow his coordinators on both sides of the ball to call the game with him being heavily infleuntial during the week in game planning, much like his mentors Tom Coughlin and Greg Schiano. |
