Boothe is absolutely an upgrade over Johnson or Shwartz, just not a long term one (thus the term stop gap) due to his age. |

All things I've read say that he's [Booth] a great swing lineman, but when he's started he hasn't been great - just average or slightly below. _________________

Another guy that fits Minnesota' mold of free agents is Mohamed Massaquoi.
Was injured for most of the year but does possess solid upside. He wasn't able to deliver as #1 WR in Cleveland before they started their rebuilding efforts but has had success with QBs that are no longer on NFL rosters and no support cast around him. At 6'2, 205 and just 26 years old he has #2 upside and the very least can provide a younger and cheaper possession receiver over Michael Jenkins. Obviously not the answer but I think Minnesota needs to add 3 WRs this offseason, wouldn't mind Massaquoi being one. _________________

| I could see Brian Hartline as a player that hte Vikes could make a run at. He might come fairly cheap, he has great hands, good speed and is a good route runner. He isnt much of a TD threat, but he can get open and make plays. Good YPC too. |

I would be all over Danario Alexander if not for those knee injuries. _________________

It's a new regime in San Diego though, Alexander might be viewed as too big of a risk to put a huge tender on. Alexander is the ideal size/speed in what you want from an NFL wide receiver, he just gets in trouble with his knee.
Alexander and Barden are two FA's I wouldn't mind the Vikings going after that aren't main stars. _________________

Vikings defensive backs coach Joe Woods was a coach at Western Michigan when Jennings was a star player there, which could be the opening the Vikings need to start a dialogue with Jennings if they have any free agent interest in him.

You don't have to put a huge tender on him. A first round tender is basically a one year contract for 2.7M, and they wouldn't even have to put that on him. They could get by with a 2nd round or ROFR
Barden has been at the top of my list for high upside potential signing. _________________

A Packers great in a Vikings uniform at the twilight of his career? It’s happened before.
This time, it’s wide receiver Donald Driver in the headlines. Green Bay’s Fox 11 News reports that Minnesota would be interested in signing Driver, 37, if he decides not to retire.
While Driver says he’s reluctant to wear any colors than the green and gold, he tells Fox 11: “I think I could go to any team and be either their number one or number two guy and be solid for another three years.”
Another Packers receiver the Vikings have their eye on is also making postseason moves — of a sort. NBCSports.com reports Greg Jennings has put his Wisconsin home on the market, apparently following through with his comment earlier this month that he’s “ready to move wherever” as a free agent.

Donald Driver has been a non-factor in the passing game in 3 years, why would lead the GB station to believe the Vikings have any interest in him at all? Jennings I can see, but Driver? C'mon man. _________________

I have a hard time believing a Green Bay TV station would know if the Vikings are interested in signing any player. _________________
