I sure as heck hope the Vikings lock him down with a 3 year deal. He's earned it.

After four relatively non-descript years in Detroit, Carolina and Indianapolis, Vikings fullback Jerome Felton is hoping he has found a long-term home as the lead blocker for Adrian Peterson. Now, it’s just a matter of that one-year contract he’s playing under.

“I mean, I would hope [I’m coming back],” he said. “I feel good about it. Obviously, we have a good thing going here and I want to be here. So hopefully everything works itself out.”

Felton is only 26, so he fits the Vikings’ youth movement. He also made his first Pro Bowl, proving that it can be sunny even in Peterson’s shadow.

I'd say a 4 or 5 year deal is more appropriate, keep him around for the rest of Peterson's career. Id guess he deserves around $2 to $2.5 M per year. Kind of a lot for a FB, but if the running game is this effective as it has been, its well worth it.

I think it should be pretty easy to resign Felton, and he deserves a long term deal.

it makes it all that much sweeter that Felton was drafted and released by the Lions. Laughing

He's come a long way since his offseason DWI, when a majority of us here wanted to just cut him loose.

The Lions wouldnt have benefited from Felton, they never run the ball Laughing

I loved seeing Felton lined up against Tramon Williams and catching a pass. We should do that more often!

In the third quarter of the Week 17 game versus Green Bay, fullback Jerome Felton, who had two receptions and no carries over the first 15 games, lined up as a receiver and was wide open for a 17-yard reception during a drive that reached the end zone.

Felton: “As the ball was in the air I was like, ‘Hold on, is that coming to me?’”
