No one listen to Kethy, he's suffering from Laurinaitis!! He's talking up his team giving too convincing of arguments.

Regular season final evaluations:

HC - Mike Smith - 13-3, best record in the NFL along with Denver. 120+ point differential

OC - Todd Haley - fairly good offensive format for Haley. Run-heavy, with a pair of dominant TEs, and a beast RB between the tackles.

DC - Perry Fewell - Typically strange NYG defense. Up and down and all over the place

Offense

QB - Eli Manning - 26 TDs, 15 picks, 4000ish yards. Typical inconsistent. First 6 games, 11 TDs, 5 picks. Next 4 games, 1 TD, 6 picks. Final 6 games, 14 TDs, 4 picks. I'll remind you that he has thrown 17 TDs, 8 picks in 11 postseason games

RB - Marshawn Lynch, LeSean McCoy - Marshawn Lynch finished 2nd in rushing yards with 1590 yards rushing, only had 2 games in the season with less than 85 yards rushing. . McCoy was nicked up, but would've been spared the painful stuff as a 3rd down RB on the Blitzburgh Stilerz.

WR - Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Erick Decker, Mario Manningham, Santonio Holmes*, Jacoby Ford*, Ted Ginn

Fitzgerald and Eric Decker would've been the primary starters, with Randy Moss and Mario Manningham as the primary backups in a 2-TE/2WR offense. Fitzgerald was able to put up 1400 yards last season with John Skelton throwing to him, but this year it was simply too much. Eric Decker ended up with 1050 yards and led the NFL in TD receptions.

TE - Jason Witten, Jimmy Graham -
Jimmy Graham - 85 receptions, 982 yards, 9 TDs
Jason Witten - 110 receptions, 1039 yards, 3 TDs

Witten and Graham were 1-2 in receiving yards for TEs, and were 1-3 in receptions for TEs. Witten set the record for receptions in a season for TEs.

Offensive line -
Russell Okung - Calais Campbell (twice), Robert Quinn (twice), Aldon Smith (twice), DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews, Chandler Jones, Justin Smith (once), Jared Allen, Cam Wake, and Julius Peppers. 2 sacks allowed to those opponents.

Wade Smith - 2 sacks, 2 holding penalties this season, 7 sacks, 3 holding penalties over the last 3 seasons combined

Max Unger - 0 sacks 1 false start penalty this season.

Stefan Wisniewski - 1.5 sacks allowed in the last 2 seasons combined (0 this season)

Bryan Bulaga - rough season, 5 penalties/sacks this season and a hip injury

backups: Gabe Carimi (0 sacks allowed at OG, not so good at OT) and Harvey Dahl (2 sacks, 2 false starts this season)

DEFENSE (63.5 sacks total, tee hee)

3-4 DL - Chris Long, Marcel Dareus, JJ Watt
Chris Long - 11.5 sacks
Marcel Dareus - 5.5 sacks, 6 PD
JJ Watt - 20.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 16 PD, 23 tackles for loss

OLBs - Justin Houston, Kam Wimbley
Justin Houston - 10 sacks, 5 PD
Kam Wimbley - 6 sacks (as a defensive end; averaged 8 sacks/season as an OLB, 11 sacks as a 3-4 OLB)

ILB - Erin Henderson, James Laurinaitis
James Laurinaitis - led NFL with 117 solo tackles
Erin Henderson - 80 tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble

4-3 DL - Chris Long, Marcel Dareus, JJ Watt, Justin Houston
4-3 LBs-
SLB - Kam Wimbley
MLB - James Laurinaitis
WLB - Erin Henderson/Daryl Smith

Front 7 (starters only) - 57.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, over 30 passes defensed. Not bad.

backups - Muhammad Wilkerson (70 tackles, 5 sacks, 4 passes defensed, 3 forced fumbles), is the primary backup along the defensive line, along with Justin Tuck. Nick Perry and Adrian Clayborne were IR'd

[b]Defensive secondary
:
Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne - Dallas is 9th in passing yards allowed and 11th in passing TDs allowed despite the CBs having to make up for Gerald Sensabaugh and Danny McCray.
Antoine Bethea - 2 sacks and 100 total tackles (2nd on team). Solid but unspectacular
Quintin Mikell - 3 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, over 100 total tackles

backups:
Prince Amukamara - played very well, according to NYG fans ==> http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=509335
Jimmy Smith* out
Stanford Routt - meh

Special Teams -
David Akers - having a bit of an offseason, but has been top 3 in field goals made for last 4 years
Britton Colquitt - 4th in net punting
Ted Ginn - gimpy this year

coach = best record in the NFL
Eli Manning - 2x Super Bowl MVP
Marshawn Lynch - 2nd in rushing yards
Eric Decker - 1st in receiving TDs
Larry Fitzgerald - Postseason records for receiving yards, receptions, and TDs
Jason Witten - record holder for TE receptions, led NFL in receptions and yards for TE
Jimmy Graham - 3rd in receiving yards, 2nd in TDs for TE
OL has given up 10 total sacks, combined, all season

JJ Watt - DPOY, NFL sacks leader, passes defensed record holder for DL, 3-4 sacks record holder
Justin Houston and Chris Long - double digit sacks
James Laurinaitis - NFL leader in solo tackles
Quintin Mikell and Antoine Bethea - 4 sacks, both > 100 tackles
> 60 sacks total

not bad overall I think.

Man, Keth, that's some pretty good stuff.

Here's my "Brag's" vs. "Doh's"

Ranked 1st in...
QBR - Aaron Rodgers (108.0)
Comp Pct - Alex Smith (70.2) - Why was he benched again???
FF - Charles Tillman (10)
INT Returns (X2) - Tillman and J. Jenkins (3 each-Add Jenkins Fum Rec TD for total of 4!)
TE Reception TDs - Gronk (11)
Punting (Total Avg) - Brandon Fields (50.2)

Ranked 2nd in...
FF - Charles Johnson (7)
Pass TDs - A. Rodgers (39)
KR Avg (more than 5 returns) - Percy Harvin (35.9 w/ 1 TD)

Ranked 3rd in...
Rec TDs - Dez Bryant (12)
QBR - Alex Smith (104.1)

Ranked 4th in...
Comp Pct - A. Rodgers (67.2)
Team Scoring Offense - Mike Shanahan (Offensive Play Caller)

Ranked 5th in...
Team Scoring Defense - Mike Nolan (contributing to #1 seed in NFC)
RB Rcv Yds - CJ Spiller (459)

Other Top 10s:
Sacks - Charles Johnson (T6th w/ 12.5)
Rush Yds - CJ Spiller (8th w/ 1244 yds)
Rcv Yds - Dez Bryant (6th w/ 1382 yds)
Rcv Yds-TEs - Gronk (7th w/ 790 in only 11 games)
Team record-HC - Mike Shanahan (T9th - Division Winner)
FF - Carlos Dunlap (T9th w/ 4)

Other Items of note:
While I don't have the stats, everything I've read about Joe Thomas, Jared Veldheer, Jonathan Goodwin (would fill in for IR'd DD), Geoff Schwartz (fill in for IR'd Nicks)and John Sullivan have been very positive.
Total team FF = 30 (more than any team total in NFL)
Total team defensive TDs = 9 (tied w/ Bears as #1 in NFL)
Total team sacks = 55 (more than any team total in NFL)
Shanahan/Nolan coached Division Winners
5 Defensive players w/ at least 6 sacks - (C. Campbell, C. Johnson, C. Avril, C. Dunlap, J. Sheard)
My 5 CBs had 16 INTs; more than 19 NFL teams had total

...and I get why J.J. Watt will win DPOY, but Charles Tillman should get some serious recognition for returning 3 INTs for TDs (1st) and 10 FF (1st) and 19 PDef (12th)...meaning he was responsible for 13 potential turnovers all by his "onesies"

Now for the "Doh's"...
Joe Philbin - Rubbish as O Coord
David Hawthorne - big drop off in production
Very "meh" in total tackles as team - best producer was Tulloch w/ 112
Injuries - For instance
- Percy Harvin and Malcom Floyd IR'd late in season
- had one game w/ ZERO healthy TEs
- Carl Nicks IR'd after week 7; DD IR'd til week 13
- last game of season had ONE healthy RB
- Weeks 1,5,6 my starting DL was Calais Campbell, C. Johnson, C. Avril, C. Dunlap--Week 2 was even worse--Calais Campbell, S. Pouha, C. Johnson, Mathias Kiwanuka...
...and speaking of Kiwanuka...rubbish as a starting OLB
- Tyvon Branch - very "meh" season
- Kenny Phillips injured most of season

Anyway, overall, very satisfied w/ the team.

ward, you forgot to mention the biggest "brag" of all

"totally OWNED Kethnaab in a trade, where keth got stuck with a guy who got injured 3 weeks after the trade, and ward got the guy who was at the top in forced fumbles"

talk about a bigtime D'OH!

I think if Smith doesn't get injured, I run away ith this thing, althogh Erin Henderson was solid if not spectacular.

check hosted.stats.com for (semi)official sacks attributed totals for your linemen

Tillman was arguably the best CB in the NFL this season.

don't get too feisty about Nolan's "team" sacks....because he's still more than half a dozen behind my team Wink

Fight, fight!! Laughing

Kethy would you mind posting the bragging for my team? I know it'll be a couple of pages long in this thread, but it'd be greatly appreciative!!

at23 owned me in a trade too. I knew there was a reason I hate that guy. Laughing Cool

I traded Manning thinking that he wouldnt be that great. And even if he did play well, I thought at the very least that Rivers would be good enough to make me not care what Manning did.

Unfortunately, that was not the case.

never been a believer in Rivers. Always thought he was a 'chuck it and pray" kinda guy, and when he had a bevy of 6'5 targets and the little jitterbug (or LT2) in close, it worked like a charm. His OL going downhill and his immobility = trouble

And imagine if you didn't make that trade; he was my top sack producer, which would've landed you an additional 12.5 sacks!!! From a Backup position!! And btw, part of that trade, if you remember, was you getting Erin Henderson while I got David Hawthorne, which you won that part of the trade by a landslide!! That said, not gonna brag about "luck" that CJ stayed healthy whilst Smith got injured. BTW, I could've really used Smith as well as Kiwanuka was "less-than-stellar" this year as my SLB...and that's being euphemistic.

EDIT: But back to the sack thing...you can have the Sack and Pdef #s...I'll gladly take the 30 FF and 9 Defensive TDs over those...

Turnovers/TDs >>> Sacks/PDefs Very Happy

@43M and at23...yeah, that trade ended very well for at23, but 43M, you still have Schaub, which was a brilliant choice and ended up being a "steal" for you...that's right, I said it. Now say it along with me..."I can't believe he lasted that long"... Laughing Laughing Laughing

So in the "spirit" of what at23 was requesting, I figured I'd list some of the other teams' most impressive "brags"...

Keth--yeah we know, Watt!! And Beastmode as well...
myself--Rodgers and Tillman
43M--Megatron and Demarius Thomas--just wow! Oh, and Weddle/Chancellor too...
at23--P. Manning, of course. And Andrew Luck as a backup...nice!
sc29--A. Smith, R. Mathis, P. Willis, L. Timmons and Dumervil/Freeney...that's just sick!!
Neumatic--In case you all didn't know, L. Fletcher, just amazing--37YO, 3 sacks, 5 INTs, 11 PDef, and 1 FF
Stefan--*yawn* Brady *yawn*; R.Wayne and V. Miller, too, ugh!
BigBen07--RGIII, Adrian Peterson...enough said!
jcm--BigBen (pre-injury) and Andre Johnson--dude still has it!
Waffles--Richard Lebeau, Richard Sherman. That's a couple of fine D...uh...well, you know. Oh, and Brandon Marshall!
Treat--ho hum...Ray Rice, AJ Green, Julio Jones and VJax. And on the D, Geno Atkins!!

Anyway, those are what stood out to me...can't mention everything, so sorry if I left off something you all were really thrilled with!

@Ward: You totally forgot my enamoration with my tackle depth of Jared Gaither and Marcus Gilbert!! If this was my actual team, I bet Marcus would've caused Gaither to retire much earlier.

I still stand by my Mike Zimmer pick as HC. Not my fault teams' are drugged and somehow think their offensive coordinator Jay Gruden would be a better HC than Mike Zimmer (just watch any Bengals game). Led an average Benglas D last 2 years to be 7th best in D and now 6th best in D for total yardage. Imagine what he'd do with my D!!!

Good coordinators dont always make great HCs. There is TONS of proof of that. Not saying Zimmer wouldnt but you cant assume he would either. There are a ton of DCs who worked wonders with defenses but their defenses were never any special under them when they are HCs. - LeBeau, Wade Phillips, Romeo Crennell, Dom Capers...etc etc...
