If we hire Horton my two biggest OC wishes would be Ken Zampese and Ben McAdoo.
McAdoo is Mike McCarthys project, has been on the staff as a while, mostly at TE's coach, but moved to QB's coach this year, a move that McCarthy had been ready to make for a while. Has a lot of knowledge on QB's via McCarthy, Clements and Philbin.
Ken Zampese is the QB's coach in Cincinnati and has been there for nearly a decade. Coaches both Palmer and Dalton to good success. Was a part of the 1998 Eagles along with Sean Peyton and Bill Musgrave. Worked with the 1999 Packers with Mike McCarthy. Worked from 2000-2002 with the Rams as a WR's coach/Passing Game Coordinator under Vermeil and Martz.
He has knowledge of nearly every key offensive system prevalent in the NFL right now.
Ken Zampese would be my #1 OC candidate. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

However, our problems lie on the offense. Is Haley interested in being an OC? Or is he purely a HC candidate now? |
I'd go that route as well. Keep Horton and hire a solid OC*. No reason to blow up the one part of AZ which was actually productive and promising. Also, for all the guys considering McCoy just a few thoughts:
Isn't it rather telling that ATL's OC and even STC have more confirmed job interviews than McCoy? The league knows that the sample size of his playcalling is too small. McDaniels called his own game, Tebow's offense was something no future team of McCoy would run and Peyton's influence this year distorts his track record to some extent as well. All a team can look at and conclude with 100% certainty that this was in fact McCoy's playcalling are the early weeks of the 2011 season until Orton's demotion and his time in Carolina with Delhomme. So with that being said, McCoy is not the offensive guru/innovator the media makes him out to be and franchises in need of a new HC know it.
*Gailey, Turner, or even position coaches with a strong record of developing their respective units (à la Edgar Bennett (Packers WR coach), Sylvester Croom (Jaguars RB coach) -> nice track record!), Skip Peete (Cowboys RB coach), Tom Rathman (49ers RB coach), Mike Solari (49ers OL coach)). Personally, I'd prefer Gailey or Turner. Out of the position coaches, give me - if they pass the job interview - Croom or Solari. _________________

NOTHING has been confirmed here but there is a lot of speculation that the Cards want to interview Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien. Wait and see I guess. Bidwill did say at yesterday's presser that he was considering college coaches... _________________

| MJ made a good point by saying that if the defensive staff is still under contract, then Horton wouldnt be able to take them with him. That reinforces my point that an offensive coach should be hired |

Still cutting off the head. And I reiterate my point, that Raich and Aiken were here for years when things were terrible defensively.
If Horton leaves, this defense is incredibly vulnerable to regression. That can't be argued. It can't. Then you worry about the players, who Jurecki said POINT BLANK love Ray Horton and back him completely. What if you bring in a DC they don't like and don't work well with? Back to square one.
EDIT:
And not in terms of offensive minds as a whole but Jurecki also made the point that Andy Reid has a TERRIBLE track record with picking defensive coordinators. _________________

Rumors are just being thrown out everywhere it seems but I'd take everyone who isn't in the know with the Cardinals organization with a grain of salt. Even Schefter said he though Whiz/Graves would stay the day before black monday and he was wrong. |

Even though they missed, I'd still use Schefter and Glazer. Jurecki's really the one guy everyone should use though.
LCF should never be used. Ever. _________________

I hate La Confora but I truely believe Reid will get the Cards job.
I think Michael will fall in love with his ability to put together an offense. _________________

Philadelphia's offense is atrocious...Reid's hand picked OL draft picks are jokes. Danny Watkins. I rest my case. _________________

I wouldn't mind Reid except for what that means for our defense. Campbell, arguably our best defensive player doesn't really fit in anywhere on a 4-3 defense as much as in a 3-4. Daryl Washington won't be involved in the pass rush nearly as much. I do think Reid is willing to give up control of the defense to a DC, like he did with Jim Johnson. |
