The way it works is that when you alternate between home and away with teams when you play their entire division, and you alternate between home and away when you play them because they finished in the same position as you in their respective division
For example we played the giants in the regular season last year at home because we were playing the entire NFCE, and the previous time we played the entire NFCE we went to NY to play the giants. However we played them at home this season because the last time the winner of the NFCW played the winner of the NFCE, the NFCE team was at home, meaning this season it was the NFCW's turn to host that game.
This is why next year we play the redskins on the road even though we played them on the road in 2011 if im not mistaken.
