Per Rotoworld
Quote:
One source told Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole that Raiders owner Mark Davis and GM Reggie McKenzie spoke to "confidants" this week about what to do with first-year head coach Dennis Allen.
Allen has done "little or nothing to inspire confidence" as a rookie coach, as his offensive coordinator hiring of Greg Knapp has proved an ill fit for Oakland's personnel, and Allen's defensive side of the ball has been the Raiders' biggest problem area. Cole seems to hint that Allen could be one-and-done in Oakland, although McKenzie and Davis are still weighing their options.

Because Reggie McKenzie and Mark Davis put their rookie head coach in such a great position to win games this season. Rolling Eyes

They certainly put him in a position to do better than he has done.

Less likely to believe the story since it mentioned Mark Davis, doubt he would have any say.

There is a reason he hired a GM. If he wanted involvement in the hiring and firing decisions he wouldn't have done that.

You can't possible think that's the only responsibility of the GM.

And just because there is a GM doesn't mean the owner sits back and has no say in anything, the GM will always answer to the owner.

No, but it's the most important one. Reggie will decide if Allen stays or goes, not Mark. Mark never had any interest in having that type of say or involvement.

We have the least talented team in the entire league, how were we in position to win more than four games this year?

How long do you think Reggie will stay if he is making decisions that Mark Davis doesn't like and they don't work out. Thankfully, Reggie isn't as naive as you, and will consider what the owner wants. Reggie would probably like to keep his job.

We have the worst OC in the entire league. You really think this is still a 4 win team despite our offense underachieving worse then any? Give me a break.

Allen doesn't deserve to be fired after 1 year, but he's been crap.
