I am on the record before the draft stating that I
wanted defense,defense,defense.Not only did I
get what I wanted I got more.Parcells went more
defense than even I thought was possible. He got
us 6 possible contributors on defense in 1 draft.
This just reinforces the notion that big play WR
does not matter in the scheme of things. This team
is being built the right way and whether you like
it or not they will play the right way. That being
SMASHMOUTH FOOTBALL.We are going to attack
from the opening kick until zeros are on the clock.
Our offense will consist of Julius Jones and Marion
Barber pounding the ball between the tackles 40-50
times a game.On 3rd down Keyshawn will catch slants
and Witten will catch it in the middle just past the sticks.
To keep them honest Glenn will run a post or a deep out
every blue moon.Basically we are going to punch people in
the mouth when we have the ball.On defense we are going
to be a pressure happy defense.Similar to the one
we had 2 years ago when we were #1.We are going to dictate to
the offense what we will allow them to do.Not read
and react as we did last year. Our defense will
be proactive not reactive.Pressure will cause mistakes
also confusion will cause missed assignments. This is
the way football was meant to be played I love it.
Just think of the dynasty team of the 90's.There are
starting to be a whole lot of similarities.I think
that once we solidify the QB position we will be
back in the upper echelon of the NFL for years
to come.Buckle your seatbelts guys we are about
to go on another long ride. Go Cowboys!!!!

SMASHMOUTH FOOTBALL!!!!!!!

your pretty good at repeating what I have been saying for the last 3 months. Control the line of scrimage on both sides of the ball. We are definetly not he colts but we should look like the 86 giants.
GO Cowboys

Good stuff......

1) I'd like to see Parcells draft a couple more for us. He is a great seer of talent.

2) It will be nice to have Rivera and Peterman at RG (right guard protection > they could do a commercial together! Laughing )

3) We need power from our RT position to be complete and I think we'll get enough out of who we have. Hopefully, our new additions will contribute early on.

4) Getting our youngsters signed and in camp will be the key to their success. They are raw and need coaching desperately before we throw them in there to hunt.

5) Our Vet addt's are the key, not our rookies. Guys like Henry, Glenn and Fergy are enough help to boost us to an elite status with what we had. It's important to remember that as our rookies are mere icing; a sweet one at that!

6) All the pieces are there for a superbowl run and anyone that says we are, but once again, typically delusional Cowboys fans will eat their words.

7) If, and there always is one, injury does not plague us, we will be a force.

This all being said.......

It is now time for mine and my bretheren to turn the table and trash those who have taken pleasure in the fall of our COWBOYS.

In the words of the 70's......DOOMSDAY is back!

In the words of the 90's......HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!

Sunday afternoons, in the local sports establishments, whering our blue and white clothe, will be a return to the smack talkin days of old.

Just a correction - when the Boys were #1 in defense two years ago, they were not a "pressure-happy" defense. Rather, they played a very conservative style, rarely ever blitzing and keeping 7 and sometimes 8 guys back in coverage. It was a defense that succeeded on smoke-and-mirrors, as it didn't generate many sacks or turnovers.
