This is just awful.
My prayers go to family/friends/Belcher's girlfriend that she may RIP. _________________

depression is typically the cause. guys feeling they have no better choice and nothing else to turn to/live for.
so horrible that they take someone else's life also. |

Truly is a tragic situation, I can't imagine defending Belcher or making excuses for what he did. Mental illness, depression or not, there is never a valid excuse for destroying two other lives like this. I am curious if Belcher had any other incidents behind closed doors or was seeking help, not that it really changes anything at this point. |

In case people don't know yet, it wasn't her mother that he was in front of when he did in his girlfriend...it was his own mother. She only referred to her as her daughter since they were so close.
And in an unfortunate twist, apparently the girlfriend was a cousin of the wife of RB Jamaal Charles. She had actually introduced them. It's a tragedy for everyone in the Chiefs' organization. _________________

The daughter of former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, who committed suicide on Dec. 1 after killing his girlfriend, will be financially supported by the NFL.
As part of the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, Zoey's guardian or her estate will receive $9,000 per month over the next four years, which amounts to $109,000 per year. In the fifth year, she'll receive $48,000. From then on, she'll be given $52,000 per year each year until she turns 18 or 23, depending on whether she goes to college.

The Cleveland Browns, already considering the possibility of reducing rookie running back Trent Richardson’s carries due to his production, may now have reason to limit his touches due to his health. Richardson, the third overall pick in the 2012 draft, has been added to the injury report with an illness. He is officially listed as probable for the game against the Redskins.
For the season, Richardson has gained 869 yards on 247 carries, an average of 3.5 yards per carry. Those aren’t awful numbers, but they suggest that Richardson hasn’t been the difference-maker the Browns thought he’d be when they traded up from No. 4 to No. 3 to get him.

so the Vikes trading from 3 to 4 gained us who? Harrison Smith? _________________

Here was what we received:
Quote: | The Browns have sent the fourth pick, 118th pick, 139th pick and 211th pick to the Vikings in exchange for the one-spot swap. |
118 (4th): Jarius Wright
139 (5th): Robert Blanton
211 (7th): Traded to TEN for 2013 6th rounder
But most say that without this trade which netted us an extra 4th, sending our own 4th in the trade up with BAL to get Smith wouldn't be as likely. _________________

yes, that's my point.
we got Kalil, H Smith, and Jarius Wright.
CLE got Richardson, who they would have had anyway. _________________

The Chiefs have made a roster move in advance of Sunday’s game at Oakland. Though not unexpected, it likely signals the end of receiver Dwayne Bowe’s career in Kansas City.
The team has announced that Bowe has been placed on injured reserve. He reportedly suffered multiple broken ribs last weekend against the Browns.

This should be a non-issue for Bowe as he tests the market next year. I cant imagine the Chiefs tagging him nor do i expect Bowe to even consider returning. If the Vikings want to over pay for a free agent WR, he would be a good player to do it on and fills a big need. |

I can't see the Vikings pursuing Bowe. In fact, I'd be shocked if they did.
Anyway, here's where the NFC North teams are in my Power Poll after Week 15:
6. Green Bay 10-4
9. Minnesota 8-6
13. Chicago 8-6
27. Detroit 4-10 _________________
