The ESPN playoff predictor gives us a 60.3% chance of making the playoffs. |

Something just struck me...
What happens in the following circumstance:
Seattle beats San Francisco, then beats the Rams to finish 11-5, division record of 3-3, conference record 8-4
San Francisco loses to Seattle, then *ties* Arizona to finish 10-4-2, division record of 2-2-2, conference record of 6-4-2.
Would we win the division based on conference record? _________________

We would win the division based off of having more wins. At the end of the day, that is the trump card.
A big reason I want to beat the 49ers is because I don't want them to have a bye in the playoffs. We need to keep rooting for the Packers to win and handle our business.
The GREAT thing about not winning the division but being the #5 seed is that we will face the winner of the NFC East, which we will likely have a better record than. I feel confident beating any one of WAS, NYG, or DAL at their place.
The #6 seed would pose as an incredible matchup no matter how it went down. We'd either face Green Bay as a revenge game from MNF or we'd face our hated rival in the 49ers to open playoff weekend.
The great thing about being the #5 seed, however, is that after beating the NFCE #4 seed (assuming we did), we would ultimately face one of the two rival teams I mentioned above in the Divisional round, which would obviously make that game even bigger.
Nothing would make me happier than knocking the 49ers out of the playoffs. I would gladly lose next weeks game if I knew that was the outcome. _________________

Actually, assuming the sixth seed loses, Seattle would face the top seed, most likely Atlanta. The NFL doesn't have fixed brackets, and pairs the strongest seed with the weakest seed in the divisional round. |

I was assuming the 6 seed wins
But yea, the Atlanta game would be boring but I actually would feel pretty good about beating them. _________________

I agree. Without RG3, it's gonna be a favourable game for the Hawks. |

without RG3??? he will be back this week so he would definatly be playing in the playoffs when we play them. Unless your assuming he gets hurt again. _________________

EVen with him, i dont see it. He won't be 100% for the rest of the year, and their defense can't stop our run game, plain and simple _________________

Eep, I thought that he was going to be injured for a few weeks
As imani said, he won't be 100%. Even then, I would prefer to face him in the playoffs this year over a veteran QB.
Plus Marshawn will be able to run and control the game. |
