What do you guys think about this idea of changing the kickoff rule:
"Goodell brought up a proposal promoted by Greg Schiano, coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: after a touchdown or field goal, instead of kicking off, a team would get the ball on its own 30-yard line, where it’s fourth and 15. The options are either to go for it and try to retain possession, or punt. If you go for it and fall short, the opposing team would take over with good field position."

Hate it. Changes the dynamic of the game too much. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

It does seem an awful lot like playground football. Just to play devils advocate, I get where he is coming from. You have grown men running full speed at others and who lower their head upon impact and that is bad for the brain and spine which can cause serious damage. Nothing looks more painful in football than being part of a wedgebuster. _________________

One more thing about the kickoffs proposed from Greg Schiano:
“One of the things that when I was researching I think it was like in the kickoff rules 17 percent of the catastrophic in juries happened on kickoffs. Yet it is only about six percent of the plays in the game. Well that’s disproportionate right? Things like that are reasons that led me to that, but obviously it is a personal thing with me because of Eric LeGrand.”

In some more terrible news that spans only a week after what happened in KC, Dallas NT Josh Brent has been arrested after supposedly driving drunk and killing current dallas teammate and former illini teammate Jerry Brown.
Word is Brent was traveling at high speeds around 2 am while intoxicated and flipped his care, killing Brown who was his passenger.
Terrible, terrible situation. Growing up, Brent lived five minutes away from me and went to the Catholic School right down the street.
He's had some troubles in the past, receiving a DUI at Illinois and entering the sup draft, but was coming on with Dallas.
Now his life is in shambles after a terrible decision.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Browns family. Just awful. _________________

That would be good to see.
Maybe he can convince the team to draft his parents new guest.
Though blogging on websites cannot be considered appropriate behaviour for professional sportsmen.
I know in OZ, they are not allowed too, assume same goes over in the US. |

Yeah he is good like that. Had RT'ed me a few times with those numbers, though not last week when he was not up to his usual elite standard. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald not giving up
Tue, 11 Dec 2012 16:12:16 -0800
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald doesn't think the team has quit on their season, despite his father thinking otherwise. "We're professionals. That will never happen," Fitzgerald said. "We're going to continue to play. We're going to continue to practice. We're going to continue to prepare every week like we would if we had won nine games in a row. That's not going to change. We're not going to quit." Fitzgerald had just one catch for two yards in Week 14 and has only 652 yards on the season.
