Lions cut DE Kyle Vanden Boesch($5.6M cap hit; -$1M from 2012 cap hit)
Lions also lose DT Sammy Lee Hill in free agency
Lions cut ties with LB Justin Durant, they intend on finding out what they have with LB Travis Lewis
Free Agency
Lions re-sign CB Chris Houston, 4 years, $35M($20M guaranteed; $7.65M cap hit in 2013, -$3.5M from 2012 cap hit)
Lions re-sign LB DeAndre Levy, 4 years, $15M
Lions re-sign S Louis Delmas, 1 year, $1.75M
Lions re-sign DT Corey Williams, 2 years, $5M
Lions re-sign OT Gosder Cherilus, 4 years, $16M

Lions re-sign DE Lawrence Jackson, 3 years, $8M
Lions re-sign DE Willie Young, 2 years, $4M
Lions extend QB Matthew Stafford, 5 years, $100M($40M guaranteed; $37M signing bonus) 1st year cap hit of $10M(-$1.075M from 2012 cap hit).
Draft
1st round- Lions select: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee- Lions are thin at WR, and Cordarrelle will prove to be one of the top #2 WR's in this draft class. With the potential to become a legit #1 in the NFL, he has the speed and play-making ability that will make him the perfect compliment to Megatron. @ 6'3", he's a little tall for Mayhew's liking, but his lust for WR's stimulates and overtakes the cerebral cortex. Patterson's name is called, welcome to Detroit.
2nd round- Lions select: Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama- Lions are worst in the NFL for 20+ yard gains, so Mayhew seeks to find a cheap solution for that during the draft. Lacy is a great combination of speed and downhill running. A lot like Mikel Leshoure before the ACL tear, but faster. Mayhew doesn't mind piling up on a position of strength, he's done it with WR, DT, and now RB.
3rd round- Lions select: John Simon, DE, Ohio State- Big 10 DL of the year, with 9 sacks in his Senior season, Simon will try to fill the shoes of the departed Cliff Avril.
5th round- Lions select: Duke Williams, S, Nevada
6th round- Lions select: Wes Horton, DE, USC _________________ Oh no, we suck again

You'd be okay with Patterson in Rd 1? A top 10 pick on Patterson?? And Eddie Lacy? What do we need him for? _________________

I'd hate Patterson that high, well, because he's all athlete, no intangibles really. Like a tall, yet worse/less talented Titus Young. _________________

Patterson isn't less talented than Young.
I do not like the draft at all though. _________________

Awesome. Not only is your opinion of Mayhew splattered all over each thread, you finally created your own. Job well done.
(I gotta give Mayhew credit here: the offense would be amazing.) _________________

Notice, though: this mock doesn't include FA signings, just re-signings. It's likely that, if the draft happened that way, Mayhew signed key free agents to address any concerns we had entering the draft.
Knowing that, it's a job well done. _________________

What you see is what you get. I really don't see much happening in free agency this season. _________________ Oh no, we suck again

Looking at your numbers, it would seem that there would be enough to sign someone.
I'm a bit surprised at the number of posters that are taking this seriously. It's clearly a shot at Mayhew, which is fine. Not much else to talk about. As long as he continues to draft BPA, I'm happy. _________________
