Sorry, meant to add another option, "Other".
Personally, I'm in favor of giving Allen another shot with a better OC. Tarver I don't personally care that much about since it should be Allen's defense anyway. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Allen got fired. Nothing surprises me about this team anymore. _________________

Tarver is a 3-4 specialist running a no talent 4-3 defense. I can't be too mad at him. If anything I have to question what DA and RM are thinking, consistently not using players and coaches to their strengths.
Knapp and everyone else can go though. Don't see Saunders being retained either, he runs the air coryell and DA seems set on this conservative WCO bs. Hopefully they wisen up, I mean they have been a bit more Vertical with more PBS lately, don't see it happening though. _________________

I think we need a veteran HC. This job is too big for a rookie HC. Bring Mike Sherman in. Worked with Reggie in Green Bay. Good HC but it went wrong when he wanted to be GM as well. He's a West coast Offense guy that fits Reggies philosophy.
Knapp needs to go. Tarver has suffered with the lack of secondary to be fair. _________________

In my opinion they are a joke. In the last ten years there drafts sucked. | #clueless |

Tarver is a 3-4 specialist? weird considering he has never even been a DC before, last year at Stanford he was co-defensive coordinator. The only thing he specializes in is being inexperienced. _________________

I'm fine with this. I wonder who we're going to hire to run the offense....
What if Knapp doesn't get fired? |
I personally would not mind seeing Al Saunders being named OC of this team. He knows all the player from being here for a little whe now. He knows the strengths, weaknesses, abilities, and disadvantages of our offense. Mostly, he was here when our O was at its best. |
+1
This is what I want. Not only that, but Saunders does have a couple #1 offenses under his belt from his KC days, while Knapp has never come close to that. _________________

Agreed. Tarver has had some good game plans and hardly ever are our guys not in position to make plays. We had our starting two CB's out most of the year in an already weak secondary. Our FS moved to CB, lately our 6th string cb has been playing S. Its a mess. Bartell has really been a disappointment. Cant imagine he is back next season. I think Adams is showing some promise as a backup at least which should allow us to keep Huff at FS next year. I liked how Spencer played before he went down. |

I was going to suggest this also. We did alright under him last season so I'm all for it. _________________

This is where I am at.
IMO, Knapp has faired the worst. Took a productive offense and buried it.
Allen and Tarver took over a bad defense that lost it's only pass rusher. Injuries have further created problems.
The offense needs some tweaks to talent, the defense overhauled.
Get a sound OC (I want Norv) to take the pressure of that side of the ball and focus on getting some talent on D. _________________

Norv hopefully.
Tarver showed today that he can scheme at DC. His players are the problem in execution and technique. |
You mean Tarver doesn't coach CBs to let a sizable WR have a free release at the LOS? He doesn't coach them to take bad angles and whiff tackles?
In all seriousness. The talent is SO SO bad on that side of the ball. When you watch a game and you say, Phillip Adams is your playmaker on defense, there is a problem.
And didn't Bartell used to be a good CB in St. Louis? What happened? Injuries and age? He's out there letting Thomas run free release slants. My bad for trying to stick up for that guy. _________________

Does Norv believe in a running game? He seems to use it very little in San Diego. Last thing I want is another OC who'll ask Palmer to throw the ball for the majority of the game. _________________

While Norv is a good OC he is not in line what Reggie and DA want. Saunders is probably the only guy who would have reign to divert slightly from the WC/ZBS. More than likely though we will see another WCO/ZBS OC if Knapp is indeed let go.
I understand why most of the offense has struggled. But I put the stupid red zone turnovers mostly on Knapp. He is supposed to be a run first guy but anytime we get momentum he dials up the pass plays. Makes no sense. We should have just pounded the ball the last few games now that the OL is getting more cohesive. |

| One canidate for DC that I wouldnt mind to replace Tarver though is T. Bowles. Also gives us a backup to Allen. With all the things going on in Philly not sure he will be back there. If I remember correctly he was one of the top canidates for the HC job here. |

Probably because his RB is less durable than ours. |

His defense has been worse than Juan castillos.
I'd like to keep Tarver _________________
