I don't see the team touching the offensive side of the ball until the 5th round, unless there is a real talent on the board that shouldn't be (ala Kirk Cousins). I hope they manage a trade down because they will 3 or 4 bodies to inject the defense with some talent.

I think the team sticks with a need approach to the draft.

2nd - Free Safety
3rd - Corner
4th - Corner
5th - LB/DL

Unless they think that DeJon Gomes can become a starter in 2013, I see FS as the selection. Perhaps that's why Madieu Williams was brought in - insurance for Tanard (needed) and tutoring for Gomes (needed). I doubt they found a Goldson-clone with Gomes, but one can hope.

good list. I wouldn't be surprised to see a offensive tackle prospect taken though in round 4 or 5 instead of another cb and a LB or DL.

i think Sean Porter is too small to play 3-4 olb in our scheme. He's only 6'2- 230

The rest I could live with. Barner in round 5 I could live with- but not before then- that's great value there.

just add a few more pounds and he will fit the scheme.. if he truly weighs 230.

he'd have to gain 15-20 lbs to play 3-4 OLB in the nfl.

Most scouts believe he'll be a 4-3 weak side linebacker.

As far as "if he truly weighs 230". In college they would try to lie on the weight to make him appear bigger on their program than what he really is. Most likely, he's in the 220 lb range.

Quote:
08/29/12 - Top five Texas A&M prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft: 3. OLB Sean Porter...Starring as a pass rushing outside linebacker/defensive end hybrid for the Aggies, Von Miller earned the Butkus Award and wound up being the No. 2 overall pick of the 2011 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos. Demonstrating similar athleticism and fluidity Porter has been characterized by some as the next Miller. In reality, Porter isn't the natural pass rusher than Miller is (few are), though he certainly remains a highly regarded prospect by NFL teams. Rather than attacking offensive tackles on his way to the quarterback like his former teammate, Porter is at his best in pursuit of ball-carriers on the flanks and operating in coverage. He reads the action quickly and can slice through gaps, beating offensive linemen to the action to rack up plays near the line of scrimmage consistently. He's fluid and fast enough that he's often asked to line up over the slot and handle quick coverage responsibilities; traits that could earn him a spot as a weakside linebacker in a predominantly 4-3 aligned team in the NFL. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

We have an extra fifth from New England in exchange for Albert Haynesworth.

Had McNabb played about ten more snaps for the Vikings, we would have gotten their sixth this year as well.
