Yes, the pictures are big.
Where the first down was at. Note that it's just after the 34 yard line by a hair:
Rice's knee is down short of the 35. The ball is behind Cason's knee. Rice got to the 35. He needed to get to the 34. He's a full yard short:
Boldin's blatantly illegal block in the back with his head lowered:

True, but he was clearly a half yard short. How the refs missed that I don't know. _________________

i'm more aggravated about the illegal block in the back with his head lowered.
Now, Rice is on my fantasy team, so I'll take all the points I can get. It's just a bit aggravating that if a play like this happened, and that was the Steelers getting the first down, things would've been different. _________________

Yeh it was easy to see it was short, and the block was hard to miss?
Must have been Big Ten refs.. _________________

what I don't get is that it's being celebrated league-wide despite so many blatantly obvious issues _________________

Rice was clearly done about a yard and some change short. Made me laugh when I saw it after how insane they went about not getting calls in some games (like the Patriots game). _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

You can nit pick all you want you allow a team to convert a thirty yard play or even get close. Blame the Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator/Players is some assemblence of that order. _________________

no arguments.
there's no nitpicking though
there are 2 reasons why that play should've been called back. That so many in the NFL media are trumpeting it as a play of the year candidate is just beyond ridiculous, similar to if the Seattle TD vs. Green Bay was in contention for play of the year _________________
