Looking back at the season we seem to have a common thread. Seemingly lousy 1st half playcalling followed by 2nd half offensive explosions.
Let me run my theory by you. Most teams realize that to beat PM they’ve got to mix things up and confuse him. That being the case, they’re sure to come up with different looks and things PM hasn’t seen on film.
My feeling is, when he see’s something he’s not sure of he audibles into a safe/vanilla play and takes no chances. These appear to be lousy calls at the moment but in fact provide a lot of info on what to expect in that situation from the D.
When it happens again in the 2nd half PM exploits it.
This would help explain why the same “idiots” that call the plays in the 1st half turn into geniuses in the 2nd.

That was actually something Lynch subtly hinted at yesterday, something which amidst his endless and partial orange and blue ramble actually made sense.
And yes, that could be the reason for our 2nd half upswings. That, or the possibility that McCoy is bad in game planing yet good in adjusting. Although the fact that Manning is in the building installing the game plan with him during the week is something which gives this McCoy thesis less weight. _________________

| It was the same last year. Restricting and conservative to start, unleash hell to finish. |

I think you hit the head on the nail. I think they make great adjustments during halftime.
The defends, bends but doesn't break. Then they go hog wild in the second half of the game. _________________ Ninja stealth muggers in the Bellagio has left me in a state of congitive disonance... |
