Unbelievable.
Why did we even trade for him?! He will be a free agent next year and no chance he comes back, we basically threw away a 7th round pick for a guy to be inactive all 16 games. Pathetic.
The way Gailey talks about him in his press conference makes me think the Bills believe he is mentally slow. |
Welcome to the Buffalos Bills FO ideas.
"Throw away a 7th round pick on a guy who will never even be active once? Brilliant!" It makes no sense to me. Maybe he was brought in so we can give him a 1 year deal afterwords to groom a young gun behind him and cut Fitzy?
I just don't get the logic (or lack thereof) of our FO. |
I keep trying to tell people, the economics won't let this happen probably the next two years. Pretty much we lose money if we cut Fitz the next two years, it would be cheaper for us to keep him on the team. |
Hey, I'v been saying the same as to why we won't sign Vick. Cutting him this year is what? A $10.5 million hit? _________________

I posted this in another thread:
| Quote: | I ran some numbers on Fitzpatrick's contract too guys, here is the breakdown of it:
2013: salary $4.25mil, bonus $6.2 mil (3 mil roster bonus, $200k workout bonus)
2014: salary $4.35 mil, bonus $6.2 mil ($3 mil roster bonus, $200k workout bonus)
2015: salary $7.2 mil , bonus $3.2 mil ($200k workout bonus)
2016: salary $8.75 mil, bonus $1.2 mil ($200k workout bonus)
2017: salary $9.45 mil, bonus $200k workout bonus
So if we cut him after this year, all his bonus minus the workout bonuses and roster bonuses count against the 2013 cap. So cap hits if and when we cut him:
after 2012 season: $5.75 mil cap hit (17 mil in bonus money owed, $6 mil being roster and $1 mil being workout bonuses recouped, save 4.25 mil in salary)
$10 mil cap hit, $4.25 mil base salary gained
after 2013 season : $2.65 mil cap hit (10.8 mil in bonus money owed, $3 mil in roster bonus, $800k in workout bonuses recouped, 4.35 mil in salary recouped
$7 mil cap hit, $4.35 mil base salary gained
