Everyone is saying oh he was a product of the system, oh look at how much his production has fallen off this year, oh lets just wait to draft another young guy better luck next year
1) He has put up better numbers than Edwards (or JA98) ever did for us no matter what system he's in
2) He's playing on an absolutely horrible defense, he is the only guy on their team even coming close to the QB. Last year he had 18 sacks, this year he only has 5.5 Thats still the most sacks of anyone on their roster and is 2nd to only Abe on our defense even if you combine Bierman and Edwards stats
3) We wanna win a superbowl NOW. Philly is clearly getting ready for a massive rebuild, ergo they couldnt afford to pay one of their aging stars. This guy clearly has atleast the rest of this season and the next left in the tank.
He is a perfect fit falling into place after Edwards didn't pan out, and I'm pretty sure we wanted him over Edwards anyways _________________ formerly MadAtFalcons |

I don't honestly see how he adds anything to this team. _________________

The Jags had the #2 waiver wire claim so we never had a chance. We may have been interested in him but we'll never know.
NFL.com said that 8 teams put in claims on him. |

Atlanta wouldn't have put a claim in for Babin. his contract would have put them over the cap. _________________

I thought it would have.
Was my first inquiry on page one. _________________

| I think we could have gotten creative with a contract or roster move to create the cap space but I highly doubt we would have done that. I do think we may have been interested if he had cleared waivers but with 8 teams making claims that was never going to happen. |
