I say do it, and then roll with Everson Griffen next year and see how he does instead of going out and drafting a guy high. I think Everson is the only reason that we could realistically do this without setting the franchise back. _________________

This. This isnt like the NBA or MLB were superstars are traded willy nilly. I just dont like trading one of our best players hoping to get someone good back. And player for player rarely happens in the NFL. _________________ XBL/PSN: Chainedsniper |

Allen is one of the reason we sell tickets. He isn't going anywhere. If it were corect value( 1st+) then I would but only then. Vikings won't move him. He will restructure his deal before he is cut. _________________

The only way I would trade Allen is if we were switching to a 3-4 scheme. I remember how hard it was to get a good 4-3 RDE. _________________

It still is hard, not as many elite 4-3 REs out there compared to elite 3-4 OLBs. |

The only problem with you guys trading for him is that he's a 4-3 DE. He's probably athletic enough to play outside in your 3-4, but he probably wouldn't be as effective. If he could be though, he and CM3 would be a beastly duo! I just think of him as kind of an Aaron Kampmann type, who is strictly a 4-3 DE.
Do you think he would work out in your 3-4? _________________

| I would guess that a 2nd rd pick to a contending team is probably the tops MN could receive for Allen if they considered trading him. Say a veteran team like the Falcons or Saints who need a stud pass rusher to get over the top. |

What would sell more tickets, a good playoff team, or a bad team with Jared Allen?
Because if you can get a mid-first round pick, and then use the money to sign another starter that is younger than Allen, which team is likely to be better? _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Jared Allen lives in Arizona, Larry Fitzgerald lives in Minnesota...
