I'm generally a pretty stoic guy, but my eyes still water to this day when I see ST highlight footage or pieces about the family he was torn away from. Certainly a seminal moment in my Redskins fanhood, and I can actually say that it was the moment that I began to view athletes as people and not an extension of Madden. Weird that I was in college at the time and at 18 still didnt grasp that concept fully, but embarrassingly enough that was my reality at that point.
RIP to one of the most sensational athletic talents I've ever seen in my life, and a developing and improving family man that could have impacted myriad lives in our community, in the Dade County area and around the country. |
