What particularly is the distaste with Ball? | Pad level and speed. _________________

Speed is legitimate, though I don't see him running anything worse than a 4.6. Probably a 4.52ish if I had to guess. He's great at running through tackles and falling forward so not sure I see the pad level issue. _________________

His pad level only drops when he sees the hits coming, otherwise he runs vertical with absolutely no lean. That gets you injured in the NFL. _________________

I could see 4.58. We're definetely splitting hairs with that.
I hadn't really noticed the poor pad level, but will definetely watch for it this weekend. _________________

Gore ran a 4.55. There are more similarities there too. _________________

Come to think of it, he reminds me of a more shifty version of him. _________________

A lot of similarities there. A lot more to like about Ball then not like. NFL ready. I am much more leary of the medical than anything else. The head injuries in the past need to be looked into very intensely this day and age of the NFL. He is going to be a solid back IMO if that comes back clean. Has the hands and vision to be good here IMO, and knows how to block. Said this from the beginning of the year, the only prospect I really like better is Stephan Taylor out of Stanford for this offense minus Lattimore, and well, we all know what happened there. If either of these guys mentioned above were faster than advertised, they would be round 1 projections and we would not consider them for GB because of it. Just saying, and yes, I know, that is even in the reduced value of RBs in today's NFL. |
