Bull. He's got DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin clearing out safeties, he's got some of the worst hands in the NFL, he's a mediocre athlete and as the field gets shorter he gets worse. And can you tell me how "one of the best receiving tight ends in the NFL" is 24th (out of 29) in the NFL in catch % after placing 20th (out of 32) in 2011 and 33rd (out of 36) in 2010? |
Because with the catches he does get he gets a good 700-800 yards a season, which is what you want from a TE |
Particularly when he's the 4th option. |
This! To be fair Celek hasn't been utilized correctly since McNabb was traded. When you barely get targeted throughout a game and are asked to block for 80% of it , it's hard to put up numbers. If Moron game planned to get him the ball more often ,Celek would have no problems what so ever putting up 1000 and 8-10 TD. Yes his drops are a concern but let's not act like Jimmy Grahams, Gronk and Gonzo's grow on trees. We could do far worse the Brent Celek at TE. |
Game planning to get Celek the ball? Boy oh boy is the bar set low around here... |
Yes game plan. You know actually attempt to utilize the posistion? When Celek is intentionally utilized by Moron , he tends to have big games. When he has to block all game long and catch the two passes that come his way out of 50, yea nothing happens. Gronk could be on this team and Moron would fine a way not to use the best TE in the NFL. Before you respond with something smart "NO" I am not suggesting Celek is as good or even comparable to Gronk. Just that Marty the Moron like with McCoy is the reason to blame for Celeks production or lack there of. _________________

To be fair, Celek is often our '6th lineman' considering the state of our offensive line.
I consider that a necessity, not necessarily mis-utilizing Celek. _________________

Didn't Meco just state he was the 7th most targeted TE's the past couple of years or something like that?
And if Celek is the 4th option and Maclin sucks, why isn't Celek the 3rd? _________________

He's the 7th most targeted tight end this season. _________________
