I keep wondering how many of these young QB's that are playing poor would live up to expectations with good coaching. They all have physical ability, and have shown they can be good at one time or another.

In the "Do you have NFL sunday ticket?" thread, mods made it clear that you can't discuss watching a stream.

Well Cam has his own issues (needs to work on footwork a lot; looked better with it last year than this year) so he'd still have some of the same growing issues. But it wouldn't be as evident if our OC wasn't so incompetent. I think he'd still be around where he was last year (85 QBR, 25 or so TDs, 15 or so INTs) with better coaching but improving. Right now our entire offense is pathetic. |

Everyone loved your OC last year, weird how things change like that from year to year.

Yeah. As an article noted the other day, he's changed so much. We no longer run tight end sets. All of our passes and damn near all of our runs come from shotgun. We rely on trickery. Everything is downfield, very little underneath stuff.
He might not even really be a bad OC IMO. But his style does not fit the talent. We've long been built to be a power run team relying off PA - something we did really well last year. Now he's made this offense into a finesse team despite having a young, still fairly raw QB with a poor pass blocking offensive line who is more fit to maul defensive lines for still in my opinion the best HB duo in the NFL. He just doesn't fit us and its ruined us this year. Plus he's a bad situational playcaller.

He's one of the guys I was thinking about. He has problems, but they can be corrected. Instead of fixing it, they try and compensate by running a college offense. It's been proven that it doesn't work in the NFL. They also don't help him at all with a running game. I wasn't just talking about a QB coach, I'm looking at the whole package.
