It got me thinking if the staff is even considering a new RT, Fisher/Schotty seems to love his former jets OL and perhaps they are more than satisfied with the current situation at RT, pair that with Fisher never drafting one in the first round as a coach.
I sure would like Lewan in the blue and gold though. |
I agree with you. Lewan looks great but that being said Fisher has never drafted a O-lineman in the first round. Boudreau's philosophy is to draft them in the later rounds and coach them up as is Fisher's philosophy. Makes you wonder is this the year he is going to break that tradition? With the way the line has played my guess would be no.
They may end up not cutting Wayne Hunter at the end of the season too. |

Here is my mock:
1a. Defensive Tackle- Sheldon Richardson, Mizzou
1b. Cornerback- David Amerson, North Carolina State
2. Wide Receiver- Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee
3. Safety- Bacarri Rambo, Georgia
4. Outside Linebacker- Zaviar Gooden, Mizzou
5. Offensive Tackle- Kyle Long, Oregon
Probably too many homer picks, no way it would happen.

Tavon Austin is so amazing. He's such a weapon. I would advocate the Rams drafting him but what would we do with him? Do we take Danny out of the slot for him and put Danny outside?
I guess we could use him as a versatile mismatch as both a scat HB and a slot WR in the right situations. Still, that guy is going to be such a weapon somewhere if he ends up with a creative OC. _________________

You are going to have to work hard to get the most out of Austin, especially us who already have the Slot position locked up (hopefully) |

That's why I don't want us to draft either. _________________

I'm starting to crush on Cordarelle Patterson a bit.
Bring me Brennan Williams! That man will be a beast. _________________ Robert Quinn

I'm not so sure we take a WR in the first round. If we take one, what does that say about Brian Quick? They just took him at the top of the 2nd round last year and are already giving up on him?
I wouldn't mind a WR in the first round but I don't think they go that route. _________________

They wouldn't be giving up on him, you can never have enough weapons... _________________

True. I'd rather take a couple of lineman(something even less likely) in the first round but I can see the thought process with a WR. I'd love to grab Warmack and Jake Matthews in the 1st round. Our O-Line would be immensely better going into the season. _________________
