A bit different. -$3.66M cap room. Pick 8 (counting Buffalo's win).

Coaching Changes:
Mike Tannenbaum is fired. Dennis Hickey (Director of Player Personnel for the Buccaneers) is hired as the new General Manager. Hickey has helped the Bucs build a strong team over the past few drafts. I think he will, unfortunately, decide to bring in a new Head Coach.

Rex Ryan is fired. I love Rex and would love to see him remain as HC, but I think our new GM will want to clean house. Chip Kelly (Head Coach of the Oregon Ducks) is hired as the new Head Coach. Chip has had a lot of success with Oregon and looks to be the next college football coach to make the jump to the pros.

Tony Sparano is fired after only one season. Hue Jackson (Former Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders) is hired as the new Offensive Coordinator.

Mike Pettine is fired. Kris Richard (DB coach for the Seahawks) is hired as the new Defensive Coordinator. Richard has helped assemble a great secondary in Seattle.

Eric Mangini is signed to a FO role.

Cuts:
OLB Calvin Pace ($8.56M saved): Pace is simply over the hill and a subpar player at this point in his career. He is not even worth a quarter of his salary.

ILB Bart Scott ($7.15M saved): See Pace, Calvin.

S Eric Smith ($3M saved): Smith is so bad. I wouldn't even say he's worth 3 dollars.

OT Jason Smith ($12M saved): I like Smith, but not for this much money.

WR Santonio Holmes ($1.25M saved): He's a cancer.

Updated cap: $28.3M

Re-Signings:
 RFA RT Austin Howard ($.75M tender): I've been very impressed with Howard. We might have a keeper at RT. Crazy, isn't it?
 RFA LS Tanner Purdum ($.6M tender): He is our rock.
 RFA TE Jeff Cumberland ($.6M tender): He hasn't been great this year, but we could use some depth at TE.
 UFA TE Dustin Keller (4 years, $22M; $4M cap hit): The first four games of this season have shown us how much we miss Keller. He is arguably our best offensive weapon, with or without Holmes.
 UFA S LaRon Landry (3 years, $14M; $3M cap hit): I have been very impressed with Landry. He has been the first good safety that we've had since Kerry Rhodes in his early days.
 UFA DE Mike DeVito (2 years, $2.2M; $1M cap hit): He returns for a smaller role.
 UFA K Nick Folk (2 years, $2.5; $1M cap hit): He's not that bad of a kicker.
 UFA WR Chaz Schilens (1 year, $.72M): Just some depth
 OT Jason Smith (2 years, $2.8M; $1M cap hit): He has some potential. It's worth it to keep him around.
 CB Darrelle Revis (7 years, $105M; $7.5M cap hit): This reduces his cap hit by $1.5M. Even though he is coming off of a singificant injury, he is our best player and needs to be re-signed.

Updated cap: $17.13M

Trades:

New York Jets trade:
QB Mark Sanchez
7th round pick

Kansas City Chiefs trade:
6th round pick
As I touched on here, Sanchez has been a major dissapointment. I have been one of his biggest fans, but I have jumped off the bandwagon. In Draughn, we acquire a solid RB who does not get many carries in Kansas City.
$6.25M saved

New York Jets trade:
ATH Tim Tebow
Jacksonville Jaguars trade:
6th round pick
Tebow was a failure from the start. Just end the misery now.
$2.59M saved

New York Jets trade:
3rd round pick
Conditional 2014 draft pick

Oakland Raiders trade:
RB Darren McFadden
The Raiders look to be cleaning house again and DMC could be made available. We reuinte him with Hue Jackson.
$5.86M cap hit

Updated cap: $20.11M

Free Agency:

FS Dashon Goldson: We finally found a free safety. Goldson is one of the best safeties in the NFL and has emerged into a star for the 49ers. Adding him to LaRon Landry, Darrelle Revis, and Antonio Cromartie gives us the best secondary in the NFL.
5 years, $42.5M ($6M cap hit)

OG Andy Levitre: Levitre is one of the best guards in the NFL and a major upgrade over Brandon Moore and Matt Slauson. He can help us return to having one of the best offensive lines in the league.
5 years, $32.5M ($4.5M cap hit)

LB Shaun Phillips: We look to address another one of our many needs by signing a pass rusher. Phillips is on the wrong side of 30, but is still younger (and better) than Pace and Thomas.
3 years, $15M ($3M cap hit)

QB Jason Campbell: Campbell has had a lot of success under Hue Jackson in the past. He is brought in to help groom our future QB and keep the seat warm.
2 years, $7.5M ($3M cap hit)

OL Rex Hadnot: Hadnot becomes the back-up to Andy Levitre, Nick Mangold, and Vlad Ducasse at the interior OL positions. Yes, Ducasse is starting now.
1 year, $0.84M

Updated Cap: $2.77

THE DRAFT

Our picks:
1(8)
2(38)
4
5
6 (via Kansas City)
6 (via Jacksonville)
6

1(8). WR Keenan Allen (California)
Although WR may not be our biggest need, we grab arguably the best offensive talent in the draft. This immediately upgrades our offensive and gives us an excelllent WR trio for now and the future. Allen can be a star for this team.

Trade:
Jets trade: 2(38); CB Kyle Wilson; 2014 6th
Broncos trade: 1(25)
$.81M saved

1(25). DE/OLB Cornelius Carradine (Florida State)
After signing Phillips, we draft a young pass rusher. Carradine has broken out this season for Florida State. He and Phillips are a major upgrade over the lulz we have had at OLB over the past few seasons.

Trade:
Jets trade: 4th; 6th(via JAC); RB Joe McKnight
Cowboys trade: 3(76)
$.58M saved

3(76). QB Zac Dysert (Miami (OH))
We (hopefully) acquire our franchise QB. We hoped that Sanchez would be that guy, but he was not. We now hope Dysert can be that guy. Dysert reminds many of the last Miami (OH) QB to be drafted this early, Ben Roethlisberger. I don't expect Dysert to be as good as Big Ben, however, I think Dysert can end up being a starting QB.

5th. CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson (Connecticut)
After trading away Kyle Wilson, we draft a CB to compete for the nickel spot. Wreh-Wilson can make an immediate impact. He has great speed.

6th(via KC). OL Jake Olson (Central Michigan)
We acquire some much needed OL depth.

6th. RB D.J. Harper (Boise State)
A replacement for Joe McKnight at RB and KR.

I'm actually infatuated with this. I know it will never happen, ever...we'd be lucky (and they'd be insane) to have KC pick up Sanchez' contract, but my god....

Oh and LOL if the Raiders trade McFadden...but in a dream world this = amazing

I wouldn't use a top ten pick on him either. I think he is given bonus points because the Cal qb is not that good

It's funny you mention that, because in M'13 no team will accept a trade for Sanchez. Not even the Chiefs, no one will take on that contract. They only way you can do it is if you take a loss on draft picks and offer a really high pick in exchange for a low.

And I doubt a third woukd work for Mcfadden, but maybe. He's getting older though and we need to get younger.

We won't have enough cap room to sign all those guys.

Trading away so many picks is one of the problems that got us here in the first place.

McKnight isn't terrible, but yeah. This probably wasn't my greatest mock.

I'd just imagine a new regime would want picks to play with and draft their own guys.

The simple truth is that nobody wants Tebow - his love affair is a media sensation and it's not mirrored by any stretch in NFL personnel departments. If the Jets decide to let him go, he's going to be cut.

Sanchez can't be traded. Well, he can, but who wants to take on a cap number of nearly 13 million for one year of Mark Sanchez? Don't count on it being the Chiefs. If Pioli sticks around he'll be having his pick of any quarterback it looks like in the draft and like the Jets will be looking to have maximum space available for a rebuild.

It's hard for me to comment otherwise because from that point on the moves become a little unrealistic - a lot of signings made on the back of freeing up space we simply won't have.

Pretty unrealistic[Sanchez/Tebow]

Don't get the love for Keenan Allen. Not a fan of him at all. Dysert, PUKE.

Not a fan green, I like your FA signings, but not going to happen.
