FA is too far away to say who we will sign and cut, but I will have 1 trade without saying what team he will go to so just assume middle of those rounds.
Trade- Cliff Avril for a 2nd and 5th
1.) Manti Te'o, LB, Notre Dame
2a.) Matt Elam, S, Florida
2b.) David Amerson, CB, NC State
3.) Quanterus Smith, DE, Western Kentucky
5a.) Kenjon Barner, RB, Oregon
5b.) Matt Smith, C, Kentucky
6.) Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse
7.) Devonte Campbell, FB, Maryland

I wanted Smith in the 4th but I figured trade would get too complicated...
I hope Nassib lasts long for us because I see him as the steal of the draft at the QB position this year. He is raw. I think he will develop into a great #2 and even a middle of the road/low end #1. |

I'm not a big fan of Amerson. I do like T'eo and Elam though. both would greatly help our D. _________________

| If we're drafting Amerson to play S, Im all for it. If we were looking for a CB in the 2nd, I'd rather have a guy like Trufant, Poyer, or Fuller. |

Honestly I see a Amerson playing corner a lot like a Brandon Browner out in Seattle. He has good ball skills and is a decent cover corner. He can tackle, but lacks elite speed, just like Browner. I think he has the potential to be an okay #1 or a great #2 CB. He could also play S like you mentioned but for us I'd like him to be our #2 CB with green and Bentley in the slot and subbing in. |

We trade our DE and only get 1 in the draft. We have 2 leaving for FA and one that is older than my grandma (football wise anyways ). We need a DE maybe as a first round pick. _________________

I don't want to get my hopes up again just to lose another RB to concussions. _________________ Kate Upton for sexy President!!!

Nice mock. You do realize we'd have to draft top # 10 to land Te'o and Elam right? Looks like we're headed in that direction though. _________________ Are you getting Ziggy with it? |

Amerson is having a bad year, but that happens with CBs and the thing with CBs is that you never really know whos fault it is. Amerson may be playing great but he expects safety help or he could be low on a cover 2. So you never do really know, but I would agree he is having a down year.
As for my decision on not drafting a DE, I am all for drafting best player available. With that said I did reach in the 3rd for Smith, but he is the perfect pass rusher for our wide 9 scheme. I also believe if we draft like this, I would not be surprised to see us sign or trade one of the following: Micheal Johnson (Bengals), Jason Babin (Eagles), or Osi (Giants).
Drafting Elam and Te'o, I feel that we will have a bad year this year. Look at our schedule it is brutal. We may actually be a better team than last year (I disagree), but we very well may end up going 6-10 this year, which could land us Te'o and Elam.
Our defense next year will be nasty though if we do land this draft.
DE- Michael Johnson or Jason Babin (trade), Jackson, Young, Smith (Rookie), Lewis
DT- Suh, Fairley, Hill, FA
OLB- Te'o (Rookie), Levy, Whitehead, Palmer
MLB- Tulloch, Lewis
CB- Houston, Amerson (Rookie), Bentley, Green, Greenwood
FS- Delmas, Wendling
SS- Elam, Spievey |

There should be plenty of DEs in the draft this year. _________________
