Assuming the Texans are up a comfortable margin in the 4th, should Kubiak sit important pieces like Matt Schaub, J.J. Watt, and Arian Foster? Given it's week 11 and they have a Thursday game? _________________ Adopt a Texan: Jonathan Joseph |

I think so, and for multiple reasons. Let's face it, TJ Yates can stand to gain more experience, along with others. I'd like to see Crick, Mercilus, Posey continue to develope. I'd say rest Andre, Schaub, Walter, Antonio Smith, and Foster every chance you get.
Granted, we still have a half a season of football to play, But's it's also time to start looking at the bigger picture as well.

I think we will come out ready for this one. Every game counts and I think Kubs has these guys focused on first place in the AFC. I think Jacksonville makes it interesting but still loses by double figures. Texans 31-17. _________________

Great news:
Darryl Sharpton is off the PUP and will be activated for Sunday's game!
We should have released Barrett Ruud, but we waived Troy Nolan to make room. _________________

Sharp got injured last year at home against the Jags and hes coming back against the Jags at home this year. He's gotta be jacked up to go out on the field against the last team he faced that put him out for a year. _________________

Going to use the comfort of my anonymity to dispense with all the PC pleasantries better left to coaches, players, and announcers about who should win and why. Yes, I know Pittsburgh almost lost to KC, and that nothing is guaranteed on Sunday but a son rising in the east and setting in the west.
However, my strategy for this game would be this:
1) Have Kubiak give a halftime speech during pregame setting a premise that we are down 10 points to Jacksonville with the prospects of all the hard work we did in Chicago going down the drain in 30 minutes. Have everything programmed to that scenario including a 66/33 pass oriented attack, aggressive playcalling and kick or go decision making, and gambling turnover-oriented defensive playcalling until the actual scoreboard shows us with a 17 point lead.
Sure, traditional thinking would have us patiently playing our game confident that without mistakes that we will prevail and why mess with the formula that has worked all season. However, I think the bigger risk in this game is a flat/disinterested effort that likely leads to another 17-10 type halftime spread and giving the Jags defense or special teams a chance for a play to really make things tighten up and ultimately force us to continue to pile up mileage on Schaub, AJ, and Arian.
At some point this season we are going to have to open up this offense and come from behind, so why not use the Jags to work out what didn't work against the Pack. Sure, we may commit some turnovers in the process, but I think the offense would be far more engaged with an aggressive gameplan and quite frankly, I think the Jags are one of the few teams in the league where we could have 3 turnovers and still win by several touchdowns.
2) Assuming the first half yields that 17 point lead, the 2nd half becomes a sliding scale of integrating the bench step by step while the Jags are likely already thinking about what they want to eat on the plane ride home. My primary goal is to have Arian Foster leave his helmet on the bench after a drive or two in the 3rd with AJ not far behind and Schaub with a baseball hat on in the 4th.
3) Other things I'd like to see assuming my "reverse the scenario" strategy works and the result isn't still in doubt late in the game:
a) Get Jean, Martin, Posey, and Graham involved EARLY, not just when we are burning off the clock.
b) Johnathan Grimes carry the load in the 4th (I've all but written Ben Tate off so I want to know if we can trust Grimes in a real game situation.)
c) Brandon Harris at the nickel
d) Lots of Jared Crick to minimize miles on Antonio & JJ.
Yes, if I were a Jags fan this would be bulletin board material as proof of a team overlooking an opponent, but unlike the years where the Texans had bad record, we generally still played the Jags & Titans tight, but the Jags haven't even been close the past 3 games (aside from a tense 2nd half when a 5th round rookie was taking his first NFL snaps). _________________

I agree we've got to start force feeding Posey and Jean in this game.
With 7 weeks of regular season left, I predict two more major injuries in pursuit of the #1 seed in the AFC.
The depth throughout the roster, and especially in the WR corps, needs to get on the field. Don't want that deer in the headlights look in the playoffs. _________________

Is anyone still doing the chatzy?
They're showing the Cowboys game so I'll probably miss this one. _________________
