We were at the Virginia Tech/Miami game last night.
We are going to be at the Florida/Missouri game and Penn State/Purdue...looks like we are looking at DTs and LBs. _________________

But wow that dudes lower body is freakishly underdeveloped. Wonder what proper development would do for his speed/power and stuff.
Honestly looks a bit like an alien running around out there. Definitely some interesting potential there though. |

Cool. Awfully interested in what you think of Gerald Hodges. From what i've seen and read, very interested. Seems like a lot of potential there. |

Good coverage skills, good vision, sure tackler, with better than average range. He's not going to have the fastest 40 time (4.75) but plays faster...he is a sold all around mid round pick at this time, with room to go up with injuries...from what I have read, either he Mauti, or Hill will be drafted this April. _________________

I like the sounds of that. I'd be pretty happy going with either of the linebackers. Mauti seems a bit riskier with the knees though, and likely a higher pick as well. But if that checks out, he seems like a good pick too. I think either guy would look nice in our LB group. |

Agreed. The guy is just...a real player.
But the question i wrestle with is this...
Jarvis Jones as more of a Rush Linebacker type who will probably fit into our scheme if we work around it and use him in a 'Von Miller' sort of way?
or...
Grab a potentially great 4-3 DE that fits our scheme and then nab a more conventional 4-3 OLB to fill out our linebacking group in a later round?
It's a tough one. J.Jones is absolutely the sort of dynamic gamebreaking player we need...but, what about getting a guy like Damontre Moore/Dion Jordan/Bjoern Werner/insert DE of choice, AND then getting a solid scheme fit LB in the 2nd/3rd/4th round? A Mauti/Hodges/Porter/etc type. |

Only thing that scares me about Jarvis is the neck, and he doesn't have the elite burst that Von Miller has, and while not on his level in coverage, he isn't a slouch and is getting better. I would say we switch to the 34 this year, the draft, UDFA, and FA is just so great it wouldn't make sense not too, and we'd have half the positions filled. Tyson at 5T, Brach at LB, Pos and Smith in the middle, yes Pos wouldn't like it, but who cares....grab any Defensive talent in the first 5 rounds, and still get a quality OL or DB to end that draft. _________________

Idk how u guys feel about adding another receiver, but I like Ryan Swope out of Texas A&M I wouldn't takin a flier on him. I've been lookin at Swope the past couple of seasons.
And maybe Eifert out of Notre Dame to play some tight end. |

Not really a 2013 prospect, but seems relevant to this thread...
Teddy Bridgewater, 2014. Want. The more i watch this guy, the more i want.
Anyone else with me there? Or should i ask, anybody not with me on that? This kid seems really impressive to me. All the tools, a good head on his shoulders and to me, has that 'it factor' as well. From what i've seen, i'd honestly prefer him to any of the QB prospects this year right now. With another year to grow and develop in college... Right now, looking well on the way to being a potential franchise-changing QB in the NFL to me. Obviously things can change between now and then, but jeepers.
The question is i guess...what happens with Gabbert moving forward. And probably closely tied to that...will we still be bad enough next season to have a shot at Bridgewater?
I'm thinking the two questions are linked though, because if Gabbert takes another big step next year towards being a real franchise QB...we won't be picking high enough, but we probably won't care. But if Gabbert doesn't take that next step, we very well could be bad enough to be at least within reaching distance of Bridgewater. Right? |
