I'm not the biggest fan of Talib and if you think about it...if New England doesn't sign him after trading picks for him that means he probably sucked really really bad this season.
I like Tyler Wilson and the rest of the draft so overall I'd give you a B
also I love the description of Zach Rogers.....it's just so stereo-typically correct _________________

I'm not a fan of the coaching staff, the free agency, if anything, is unrealistic[keep Talib away, and Jason Jones really doesn't add much], not a fan of no offensive line help[regardless of the Albert signing, which is unrealistic] until the 5th round. I love Wilson, love Mauti, love Trufant[he'll be a second round pick, IMO] and the rest is just meh.
I don't really expect anything close to this to happen, but I do applaud the effort you put forward to complete it. |
Nnamdi Asomugha will never hit free agency. A second round pick for Kolb? Pssh. DeMeco Ryans would never be traded for a fourth round pick. Fletcher Cox is going to be a top 10 pick. |
I'm not even sure what kind of response this is supposed to be?
Nnamdi's contract was "voided", it's not like he was actually set to hit free agency, and the were not allowed to tag him.
The Chiefs have zero[can you think of one?] to let Albert go without seeing the tag for this year.
There was also a time when people were calling for a first round pick for Kolb, and most us expected a second round selection when it came down to it.
I have no comment for Ryans becuase I never really paid attention enough to know what his value was.
I also don't think many people expected Cox to go top ten[and he went twelve overall, so it's not like it's that big of a swing, doesn't really help your point]. _________________

Stuff that might seem unrealistic might happen. Who would've thought Brandon Boykin would slide to the 4th round? Everyone who I trust was sure that Cox wouldn't make it past the Rams and Panthers. Nnamdi was never supposed to hit free agency but he did because of a technicality in his contract and when he did hit free agency he was supposed to go to the Jets or Cowboys. Ryans was a leader for the Texans, why would they ever trade him?
The Chiefs don't have any good reason to let Branden Albert go. They don't. In a perfect world you're able to keep him from the market but they're going to have a new coach and a new GM which might lead to Albert slipping through the cracks. They have to pay Dwayne Bowe. They've got a crap ton of money tied up in Eric Berry, Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles, Eric Winston, Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali and they have to pay whoever they draft with the #1 pick. Plus the Chiefs already are preparing for him to leave, they drafted two potential left tackles in the second and third rounds last year. Never say never. _________________

Dwayne Bowe is a dead man walking in Kansas City, dude is done there.
| Quote: | | Who would've thought Brandon Boykin would slide to the 4th round? |
We kind of thought he'd slide after his leg break, so that's not really that big of a surprise[though I had him as a mid/late third rounder].
| Quote: | | Ryans was a leader for the Texans, why would they ever trade him? |
It could be because he was awful in the 3-4, coming back from an injury, and losing playing time?
| Quote: | | Nnamdi was never supposed to hit free agency but he did because of a technicality in his contract and when he did hit free agency he was supposed to go to the Jets or Cowboys. |
His situation is much different then a typical free agent situation, as he wasn't able to be tagged.
I'm sorry you don't agree with my thoughts on your mock draft, and I'm not going to clutter this thread further. _________________

I like it......Id be so happy if we somehow signed Albert....but if we don't get him there's always guys like Baker or Bushrod.....I just am 99% sure were gonna sign a big time LT....it would allow our new regime to get a QB in the first..
Did someone say Jason Jones (I think it was Remix?) would have no effect on us? Lmao.....that's an egregiously obtuse statement. Dude is very good and has been a stud for Seattle this year.
I don't see Talib hitting FA....I think NE will keep him because they're so weak at CB and the dude is a top 10 corner when he's on the field. However Id be happy if we did sign him.
I'm not a big fan of Zach Rogers.....from your description he's basically another Jason Avant....Also Id be mad if all we did to address our S position is sign Sanford...he's not that good. Trufant is nice but he's a 2nd rounder.
Overall a nice mock....not perfect but none are.. _________________

I made a few changes since it appears I'm the grim-reaper. I had Tank Carradine and Michael Mauti in this mock and they've both since torn their ACLs.
Changes:
Hired a new GM
Signed Jairus Byrd
Signed William Beatty
Signed Jonathan Casillas
Draft Datone Jones
Draft Jon Bostic
Draft DJ Swearinger _________________

I think this team might be worse than the one we currently field. _________________

Seems like nothing was really upgraded. Plus I think drafting a qb this year is a mistake.
It's more or less the same thing. Except with a downgrade at corner, an upgrade over coleman at safety and danny watkins out at guard.
Beatty I would probably prefer at RT and keep Peters at LT. maybe just switch the line around the other way.
Seems like a how could we win now with a rookie QB mock and I don't think any of these rookie qbs are worth that. _________________

Don't like Fewell and Talib, doubt Byrd leaves Buffalo, rest is pretty solid _________________

| Per Schefter's "sources" we're going to bring in an offensive-minded coach. I think Mike McCoy of Denver would be a more likely candidate. |
