Sick.
On a side note, Jones has a really good chance of making the probowl as a KR.

| I was just looking at the return statistics too. It's kind of surprising that nobody besides Jones has more than 1 KR TD this season. His return average will probably come down since he hasn't had that many actual returns but Jones has been the best KR the Ravens have had in recent memory. |

After the amount of flack Jerry Rosburg has gotten over the past couple of seasons, I'm surprised with how much better our special teams has gotten this season. It's almost a complete 180. Tucker has been beasting, I have no real complaints about the kickoff and punt coverage (and we even got on top of that muff this past week), and Jacoby has given the kick return game a jolt and we've got 3 overall special teams touchdowns already on the season when you factor in Koch's run. The punt return game hasn't given us much but Doss has shown some promise and broke one last week that was called back for holding. The only real black mark thus far this season that I can think of was Ayanbadejo dropping the Cowboys onside kick and giving them a shot to win the game.
And on the topic of surprising statistics, after watching 1 Winning Drive for this week and hearing Cary Williams mention he was still 'top of the AFC' even after dropping a pick (whole sequence is pretty hilarious, everyone on the bench was giving him SO much crap for not coming down with the ball), I was shocked to go see that Cary Williams does in fact lead the AFC in interceptions right now. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |

This is lovely. Jones is definitely our best return man since... well, he's better than BJ Sams... the only return man comparable is the greatest return man in the history of the Ravens... Jermaine Lewis.
I think if the Ravens are going to make the Super Bowl, it'll be through the strength of their special teams. A team like the Texans is just overall a more superior team. Defensively with Pees, we're never going to be world beaters. Offensively Cam is Jeckyl/Hyde... but like BTerp states above, our special teams has really been a surprise this year. It could be the difference in points/yards that gets us over the hump over a team that, on paper, is a superior unit. _________________

| Jones has been outstanding, really a perfect pickup for us. Best KR in the league this year IMO, and he's been rock solid as the 3rd WR. No drops and has made big plays. Change of scenery has done wonders for him. |

I kinda feel for Deonte Thompson. He was doing pretty well prior to the fumble against KC, but now he has to cope with the fact that his teammate has a higher yards/return average than Percy freaking Harvin.
As for JJ, Texans fans can boo him all they want. We're just fine with him as a #3/return ace. _________________

Yeah, he wasn't too shabby. He definitely wasn't the worst returner we've had... he had some explosive ability to take advantage of a lane created for him... sort of like a Yamon Figurs. But he didn't have the vision to set up the DEFENDERS in a way for his blockers to get him the lane that he wants- like we've seen with only one other return specialist in Ravens history. If Jacoby Jones continues to play like this on kickoff return, he just might surpass Jermaine Lewis....
Back to Thompson, I think he probably gets let go by us at some point in the next couple years (maybe next year) only for him to catch on with another team and do some nice things at receiver. He has some talent. _________________

Regarding Jacoby, I have to admit that he is one of the things I was very wrong about this year. I hated the signing with us so tight against the cap, but he has certainly been worth it so far. _________________

Yeah, me too. He was pretty much a laughingstock in Houston according to ET and several others on here. I'm really glad that he was able to put that all behind him and make a name for himself as a Raven. _________________

Not ready to be put on the same pedestal as Jermaine*, but, man, he's scary good right now.

His performance tonight should secure him as back-to-back winners of this title. _________________
