No, the Vikings pay him for his talents. If anything the Vikings are wasting money on him as he obviously hasn't produced a SB for the Vikings. (Well that's not true since they prolly make a lot of money via other purchases lol) but my point basically stands.

well if that theory was true, most teams in the league shouldnt be paying its players since they arent producing superbowls. In the last ten years, how many different teams have won superbowls? 4 or 5?

If you look at the last 35-40 years, there has been a very clear progression as to who the best RB in the league was:

Walter Payton: 1976 - 1986
Barry Sanders: 1989 - 1998
LaDanian Tomlinson: 2001 - 2009
Adrian Peterson: 2007 - ?

There are a couple other guys in there like Emmit Smith, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Curtis Martin, etc. but I don't really think they compare to the above 4.

That's basically my point. It's apart of the game. The Vikings pay him for his talent and then play him in games. "Wasting" talent? Sure. But it's not this rare thing.

if Peterson was wasted today, i'd love to see him when he's sober.

It looks like the charges from last summer's incident with Houston police have been dropped:
