Do you honestly think MBT gives us a better chance to win than Webb? I think the main reason for a change is we still have a chance to make the playoffs but Ponder is killing us. If we don't care about winning we should just ride out Ponder the rest of the season. |

I don't think there's any Webb-bashing going on, I think all our guys like his skill set a lot and wish he was used more often.
but as a starting QB in every game? not so much. that doesn't mean he's being "bashed." _________________

Our issue is the vertical game. Who throws the best deep ball on the team? McLeod Bethel-Thompson. _________________

doesn't mean he can throw it accurately or consistently, you're just assuming he can.
or that he can read anything better than third string pre-season defenses. _________________

That's a fair point. I could just be drinking the PA kool-aid. _________________

PA has a whole lot of Kool-aid, probably the biggest Viking homer to grace this planet. |

Only one player received straight A's. |
3 "highly respected" anonymous personnel executives ranked the 14 backup QB's on winning teams. There are several tiers in the article.
You can check the article for the entire breakdown and analysis, but here's his tiers...
Tier 1- TJ Yates
Tier 2- Jason Campbell, Matt Flynn, Ryan Mallett
Tier 3- David Carr, Joe Webb
Tier 4- Colin Kaepernick, Byron Leftwich, Drew Stanton, Brock Osweiler
Tier 5- Graham Harrell, Luke McCown, Dan Orlovsky, Tyrod Taylor |
for what it's worth. _________________

Yeah, I posted in the NFL General forum that I watched Colin Kaepernick on Sunday and he didn't look nearly as good as Webb did a year ago, although some of that might have been first-game jitters on Kaepernick's part.
I also noticed in the 49ers game that the Rams defence had zero difficulty making the adjustment from Alex Smith to Colin Kaepernick, which is about equivalent to the adjustment from Ponder to Webb. _________________
