Uh oh, this doesn't look good:

Profootballtalk.com:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/07/todd-herremans-could-be-out-for-the-season/

Quote:
A bad offensive line in Philadelphia could be getting even worse.

According to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com, right tackle Todd Herremans could be done for the year after suffering a foot injury on Monday night against the Saints.

Rueben Frank of CSNPhilly.com:
http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/eagles-talk/Sources-Good-chance-Herremans-out-for-se?blockID=798577&feedID=704

Quote:
The Eagles have not released any information about Herremans’ injury, other than head coach Andy Reid’s announcement after the game Monday night that Herremans had suffered a “tendon strain” in his foot-ankle area.

Until all the tests are concluded, the Eagles won’t rule Herremans out or place him on Injured Reserve. But everything so far points to a fairly significant injury.

Torn achilles? I hope not. Doesn't sound good.

I hope it's not achilles. Everything else and he could be ready for next season

If we absolutely had to find a silver lining it's that a lot of guys who otherwise wouldn't be getting much field-time is getting experience and tested, getting a feel for the game and developing skills and such.

At the expense of Vick and the Eagles, though.

Jesus. Pretty much sums up the first eight games of the season. What very little chance we might have had just went out the window.

Dunlap, Mathis, Reynolds, Valdeverde, Kelly

For the love of god that looks Horrific from what was there in 2011

Peters, Mathis, Kelce, Watkins, Herremans

Exactly, and it's not about the individual players on the line either.
This line can't play cohesive football and that's the worst part of it.

Howard 8 games
McGlynn 8 games
Justice 7 games
Shipley 1 game

Those are players we've released/traded and have started this year. Make of it what you will

Shipley short arms and beside Justice the two others would be terrible fits for us.

Eh, it is about the individual players.

A few of the pressures on Monday nights were about communicaiton, but it was mostly just the Fatty watching Dennis Kelly and Demetrious Bell getting ABUSED 1 on 1 without giving any RB/TE help.

Devastating blow to an already putrid O-line.

Hopefully Bell fares better back on the left side because was beyond abysmal on MNF.

Yeah, individual players matter, but ask anyone who has played offensive line at any level of football and they will tell you it's paramount that they play as a unit or else you miss assignments.

Between guard and center you have to know, pre-snap, through the noise and based on what alignment the defense comes in, if you're going to have a combo block or if you'll be reach stepping. Taking a bucket step on a counter or toss or if you're reaching the center (if guard) or if the OT will reach the DT (probably backside tosses and counters).

Whenever one guy does something on the line, another has to make up for, or, has to find some other responsibility to do.

This isn't always done through verbal communication as defenses shift in-and-out of formations and show different shades and stunts, and blitzes.

I will take 5 average linemen who play as a unit than a mix of above average and average who have no chemistry.

I think the biggest example is on the blitz that ended up in the Vick fumble. Nobody accounted for the A-gap blitz, a communication error.

But yes, Bell consistently getting abused on the edge is just as bad.
