Honestly I wouldn't care if Soap doesn't get locked up. He seemed to regress this year in defending the run and not holding his ground as well as last year. |
Plus, I'm not sure I would like to sign him to another 4-5 years deal. Maybe we can re-sign RJF and find someone in the draft to groom. |
Good point, we could draft one as well, but there aren't too many 3-4 DT prospects I like. Jonahtan Jenkins is ideal, but he'll go in the top half imo.

I think we're going to approach this from a narrowed BPA approach in the draft this year. Specifically with these positions in mind: FS, NT, DE, C, CB
I Expect our draft to have those 5 positions FOR sure. I could also see us drafting OLB in the mid to late rounds.

I think it will be a defensive heavy draft. We have a lot of our offense in place (especially if James + Jenkins pan out). We need defensive depth badly though, and ideally a DE for the future to replace Smith.
On offense, i see TE (Walker leaving). And unless the staff is really high on Kilgore, they'll draft a C, as you said.
